I see it as your mind being a painting, and your brain being the material canvas the painting is on, and you are asking me "well what about THIS color? Is THIS color on the canvas?" and I don't see how there could be such a thing as a painting without a canvas. You see this does not limit the painting potential at all, the beauty it may hold, the philosophical and cosmological depth that it may reveal; it merely requires the existence of an underlying canvas, as far as our current understanding of minds/brains go (they do seem linked inextricably)
for sure. i'm feeling that. so is mind the same as consciousness? or is the mind ego? or is the mind just mind? Spiritual teachers will go on and on about the notion that the truest "you" is primordial or unconditioned consciousness, which we all equally are, and that the mind and body is simply an instrument or vehicle that consciousness (or some would even go so far as to say 'Spirit') wears to express itself in a diversity of forms, but that when the body drops, the truest eternal 'You' remains, timelessly, before and after you die. Obviously, it's all just language at the end of the day, but what are your thoughts on such a notion? Is consciousness separate and/or different than mind? And tell me if you want me to stop. Obviously there's no ultimate answer. I'm just shooting the shit and i'm curious as to what you think. But i realize that we could endlessly go on and on till the day we die about these concepts, and that spiritual teachers don't necessarily hold any more truth than any scientist or philosopher or grocery bagger does.
The one trip I was sitting doing nothing, the other I was talking to my other tripping friend (who remembered everything) as if I was God, and the last one I was just sitting again. Sometimes counting something with my fingers (no idea what).
I heard there is/was a few different batches of mayans about. Some say great, some say poor. Sounds like you had the good ones.
