What gives you the most pride about being canadian?

the only one being nationalistic here is you. I havent gone "USA! USA USA!" or whatever.

Like i said, i'm not trying to demonize your country. I just think that canadians need to realize that their country has made mistakes too. When you get people like the one who started this thread, calling americans terrorists, it makes you wonder what is wrong with some canadians.

You want to make this out to be a US vs Canada thing. I'm not. America has done bad things, Canada has done bad things. France has done bad things. I think we can agree on that. We all need to do much better.

I used to go out like 3 or 4 times a week for poutine during the winter in Val d'Or, aww, man soooooo good at 3 in the morning after last call (ya, last call in Val d'Or is 3am). And the best poutine place was like this dinner inside a big long trailor building, with a 50s style counter right across the street from our favourite bar.

 

I am proud that we have outspoken advocates for for progressive causes, people like David Suzuki and Farley Mowat.

 

Canada is too damn violent for me.

As you can see by the previous post, no where near the murder rate.

We just have about the same number of firearms per capital as the US, and four times less murders, per capita.

I have to agree, I think that the staistic is deceptive.

Canada has its problem areas, but we are not even close to having the crime issues that the United States does, especially when it comes to gun play.
