What does your username mean?

Mine is a name of a dog I had in 1970. He had circles around his eyes and it looked like he was wearing glasses. We mostly called him Specs.

When I signed up I went through other pet names first and the board kept telling me the names were already taken. This was the first name that was not used by someone else.

 

Before I became a Deadhead, I was into the Jefferson Airplane. In 1971 when I was 18, Paul Kantner and Grace Slick had a baby named China and made an album with the baby on the cover. The album was called Sunfighter. In one of the songs, they pledged to keep the existence of the baby secret from the government so it would never have to pay taxes, fight in wars, etc. Kinda silly, but kinda cool and revolutionary.

Sunfighter was also my handle on an ancient dial-up service called The Source in the 1980's.

 

I actually posted in it a few years back . But I can barely remember yesterday, so it was time for a refresher.

 

Your username has long since become an IRL phenomenon since I know so many people who used to post here. This includes my best friend Kevin, who in fact brought me to the forums back in 2004 when we were into the Rainbow scene and drifting.

This user name and account that I have now was never meant to stick; I signed up to make fun of some post in the Psychedelics forum regarding meditation involving crystal energy, and for some reason I got pulled back into frequenting this site. I've of course noticed that many of the posters who got pulled with me (a sort of suicide bomb version of banning) have since had their accounts revived but I assume that my transgression was beyond forgiveness so I've never even tried to ask about bringing it back. I'm happy with this account and was never attached to the old one anyway, with all of it's 17,000+ posts, paid membership privileges and custom title after the 1000th post mark.

 

You should ask for a refund.

Oh boy.. I love some of you guys too much to jeopardize my ability to post here by opening up that can of worms. The 'sex offender' apparently no longer posts here so ultimately my mission has been accomplished.

I have always been a Sublime fan and I was listening to that song as I was trying to think of a name.

One of the coolest bassist from the early 80's- Lorna Doom from the Germs..and of course I dwell on doom and destruction so it is fitting

 

That's what I thought, she's one of my favorite singers.

 

My user name came about like this.
At one time I developed a great interest in the English poet, engraver and painter, William Blake. (I still admire Blake)
One time I was thinking about Blake after ingesting a little piece of blotting paper, and it struck me that to the ordinary Christian, Blake's ideas would seem 'black'. Black Bill Blake came into my head, and I found it somewhat hilarious at the time.

Later, when I discovered the forums I thought, why not?
It also sounds a bit like an old time pirate or highway man perhaps.
