holy shit were like the same person! just about all my clothes are functional. if i cant walk, garden, etc in it, it doesnt get much use and usually gets given away. lately my staples have been: -jeans style velvety pants (i have a grey pair, and brown pair and a beige pair) or a pair of bluejeans, though most of them are super stained from equine activities. -a plain tank top, either ribbed or strappy. right now its a purple one. -plain bikini style undies. -a bikini top for a bra, just like dragonvine or a sports bra. -i hate wearing socks and shoes, but in the winter i have no choice. i try to wear cool socks. yesterday it was argyle, today it was pumkin pie coloured wool ones. i prefer wool socks. -another staple is my patchy, long cargo shorts with long johns underneath. -i wear long johns allll the time in winter. -its almost always topped off with a wool sweater. thats my boring, functional winter fare b/c i have nowhere to go. for footwear, its crocs, my furry boots, or my sweet blue shoes that are really hard to explain. i dont have a normal pair of runner type shoes anymore but im on the lookout... in the summer, i wear skirts and dresses a lot, and wide, loose pants/long shorts, tank tops, bikinis and for footwear, my green chacos or crocs (both are superior footwear). i like different styles too, and i like to mix it up. i dont have nearly the volume of clothes i used to have though, so there is less room for playing around. anyway, i generally wear long johns, cotton and wool stuff, usually colourfullish. and everything comes from the thrift store. i cant bring myself to spend more than 5 bucks on anything.
When I'm not in my work or school uniform I usually wear Tops: Shirts with weird shit on them, band shirts or wifebeaters Bottoms: Thai Fishermen Pants, boardies, jeans Shoes: Adidas Hightops, Nike velcros, Volleys Belt: Opeth belt buckle And that be me... occasionally on a cold day ill wear my wetsuit!
I never used to like them till I saw all the guys from Belphegor wearing them then ATchaos bought me one for christmas
hmmm today Im wearing a patchwork skirt that my friend made for me, a black long sleeve shirt, my favorite fat buddha necklace, and wooly socks cuz its friggin cold!
Scattered thats sooo awesome xD I need to take a trip to camden in london to get some gorgeous cords I saw there. But they are £34 So expensive xD I rarely spend that much on trousers unless I know they are going to last, like a pair of £70 ripcurl khaki cords... I adored them, wore them so much I wore out the bum I don't think they are fixable, Unless I magically find the same faded coloured cord fabric and sew a layer ontop of the bum xD *Sigh* *feels nostalgia for those awesome trousers* I totally agree with you SL when you say if you can't do anything in it it isn't worth keeping xD I bought some jeans a couple of years ago, they are totally the wrong shape and the waist is waaay too high (I like my trousers sitting on me hips xD Urh to waist skirts xD) SO I might give them to charity, but the black has faded and there is a wax stain on them lolll. I bought three pairs of combats from primark <3 so I need to wear them so they are comfy for the summer ^^ I'm trying to look for some sort of hippy style clothes on ebay or ANYWHERE on the net and I'm gettin nuttin Like cords or floaty tops or something xD Where do you think I should try? Any sites you guys know of?
I'm a very boring dressing person. I wear jeans everyday. Currently only have two pair so it's a bit tough. In the summer I have a pair of wrap hemp pants I love. I like old tshirts and hippie/boho shirts, but 50% of the time you will find me in a plain tshirt. I prefer knit, zippered, hooded, Value Village Sweaters. I also love wearing knit Value Village toques in the winter. I own a pair of Vans I've had for four years... they are *almost* retired. In the summer I have more patchwork outfits and apron tops that I like to wear. I too hate spending money on clothes. It PAINS me. HOwever, I am always willing to pay a lot more for a beautiful handcrafted piece of clothing over something manufactured. It's worth every penny then. =) When searching on ebay, search the term "patchwork hippie"... Also, I'm not sure what floaty tops are, but are they similar to apron shirts? Use that term on ebay to get a nice amount of clothes popping up.
Cheap black t's and cheap blue jeans. Used to wear white t's but they wouldn't last a day without getting at least 1 indelible stain. Ive got an assortment of checked "dickies" jackets that I wear 6 moths out the year.
Gypsy rose looks pretty awesome, thanks I'm getting to know my way around etsy too xD Just so much to look at
well every now and then i like the scramble through op shops, it's so fun shopping there.. it's like you're forced to be creative. to find something real cool and different. and then everyday i wear whatever i feel. sometimes it's a lot of black and messy hair - more my arty moods. or i wear loose colourful skirts and singlet tops - that's more my 'oh hello yes i love you i have all the hours of the day to listen to your problems' mood or i just wear grand-mother looking clothes when i feel like, whatever. i would say my grandmother looking style is my usual look. then i quite like fisherman pants to hang out in, and loose tops.. i dunno man. i find what i wear is sooo expressive. but i could never wear 'branded' clothing or something trendy, makes me feel.. sick. as if you wanna pay $80 for one top when you could buy 20 at an op shop! it's all just some groovy fun - even at school, i take this 'studio arts' class. it's very expressive and fun in a 'fashion' way and so i bring old pairs of jeans and turn them into bell-bottoms and stick flowers to them being naked is nice too. oh, i like to wear bells or feathers or strange necklaces. usually something i found on the ground that i attach to string, also fragrance: i love to wear oils like night queen , sandalwood and patchouli but really, i don't care. really!
