the video traveled here from the distant past. time travel is about having sex with women who are out of your league?
As much as I think time travel would be really cool there is no way that I'd trust humans with it. Over history we have proved time and time again that our greatest trait is screwing things up, and it would only take one thing to happen for us to completely screw the existance of earth (not that we arent half way there already).. When I imagine us time travelling, I imagine a portal with a bunch of biggots in suits with clipboards crowded around it all chuckling to themselves with pockets full of tax money, launching some nuclear bomb through it and declaring war so that we can steal the resources. I think it would end in complete diaster. Damn biggots.
Unless you create other dimension or whatever you call it, where things went differently from point when you have moved back
You know, I've always found the topic of time travel interesting.. If you are of the belief that time is linear, then time travel would only be possible backwards and not forwards. You see, if you went back to the past, you would not be able to get back to your present, as it would be the future, and it hasn't happened yet so you can't go there. Of course, if you are of the school that thinks that time is concurrently happening all at once (past, present and future) then yes it would be possible. However, consider this, if you were to go backwards or forwards in time by even a minute or two, you would no longer be on the earth, you would be in space. So, not sure how time travel in the sense like the movies and TV would be possible. I mean, sure if we used a space shuttle we could go back in time a bit and get back to earth, but if you wanted to go back say 1,000 years, it would take a long time to travel back to where the earth was at that point. Although, if we can invent time travel, I'm kind of assuming faster than light travel would have been conquered as well. So yeah... I'm not exactly sure of the actual measurements, but even 15 minutes would probably place you somewhere else. See for starters, the earth is rotating at about 1,000 miles an hour right? So, if we assume the earth is stationary, and only rotating, then in 15 minutes back in the past, you would materialize 250 miles away from where you are right now.. Now, we also need to consider that the earth itself is moving... So.. yeah...
I think that happens when one consumes too much alcohol, BAM you're in the future! Also happens when one smokes some marijuana, time can slow to a crawl, or go really fast... Hmm... So apparently alcohol and other illicit substances are the secret to unlocking the power of time travel? Could Shaggy and Scooby have stumbled upon the secret? Is THAT why the Mystery Gang was permanently in the 70's? :afro:
Love the theory of time travel but only in films. If this type of travel were possible we'd only screw up the planet worse than we've already done. So I say keep time travel in the realms of scifi and imagine the crap we can change or do.
Anyone going to watch 'Looper' ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iQuhsmtfHw"]LOOPER - Official Trailer - In Theaters 9/28 - YouTube
Because of our physical bodies, we humans are locked into the time domain. There is no escape; we're traveling through time whether we like it or not. Perhaps when we shed these bodies we'll be unlocked from the bondage of time, free to explore the mysteries of the universe and beyond.
It looks like it is the type of film that will work ok on TV. I'll probably download it (don't tell anybody).
Only if before you die you've done a proper recapitualtion will you retain your awareness and slip past the eagles beak. Then you can meld with infinity
I just had a thought... Technically we all already time travel! You see, when we have a thought, we take time (admittedly not a whole lot of time) to process that into words, these words are then spoken... so, when someone responds to you saying hello, he is responding to the PAST!!! Freaky! We are all technically living in the PAST!!! Because by the time you have spoken, and it gets to me, and I formulate a response that moment is gone... Deep....
