What do you think it would take?

The American government offers its citizens more rights and accessibility to services than most other governments in the world. It even makes up for the lack of social healthcare with a steady job availability.

Shit... places like Canada, Israel, and European socialist countries have universal healthcare, yet the unemployment rate is horrific.

Yet again, be happy to be an American kids.

 

I've always envied Germany, for the most part.

 

I would still like to see free healthcare. Almost no one I work with doesn't have any sort of healthcare, and they don't go to the doctor because they can't afford it. The company my dad retired from is how we get our insurance, so I have always had it. It's importance has been driven into my head since I was born. It's really sad.. One accident and you could be financially screwed for life.

 

Free healthcare is utopic.

If there was universal healthcare in the states then they would take out a rather nice percentage of each person's salary in order for them to have it.

It does benefit the poor though, which is nice.

Lets say they take out 10% (imaginary number, but for the sake of argument)...

If ya make 4000 a month then you pay 400$ a month for healthcare. If ya make 400,000$ a month, then you pay 40,000$ a month of the same healthcare.

That's the way they have it set up in Israel...shit, we even got free dental.

 

I wouldn't mind having taxes taken out as much if I knew they could be paying for the opperation of a sick child with failing kidneys, as compared to now where they are probably buying something with the capacity to kill someone...

 

most medical tools have the capacity to kill someone

 

so do bombs and bullets which is why they should be only used by people with peaceful intentions in mind
