Smile if it had been released in its intended format in 67. Village Green, sure. Belle and Sebastian- If You're Feeling Sinister (I might catch hell for this) Bowie's Hunky Dory if it didn't taper off at the end. ("Andy Warhol"??? gimme a break) and of course, those fucking mid-60's Beatles albums Elvis Costello's Imperial Bedroom- okay that's my official candidate, now that I've thought it through. Yeah.

'The Beach Boys' & 'The Beatles' are clearly getting all the attention but how about that other legendary group beginning with B?...............................................no I was not refering to 'Basil's Balls-Up Band'. I mean:'The Byrds': This is perhaps their finest: 'The Notorious Byrd Brothers':
Thanks.I listened to it last night having not heard it for years & I was knocked-out by it's brilliance. In fact,I'm gonna listen to all through the night tonight with the volume up; - my neighbours shouldn't mind ,tomorow is Saturday; & great music should be shared. Here's a photo of The Byrds at the time they were recording 'TNBB' & before Hillman & McGuinn had sacked Crosby!!:
"Here's a photo of The Byrds at the time they were recording 'TNBB' & before Hillman & McGuinn had sacked Crosby!!:" That line that Crosby just snorted has just kicked in by the looks of things hehe
Lol!!.He's done everything that's a mind-altering substance & yet he's still standing!. Apparently - the final straw for McGuinn was Crosby's attempt to get The Byrds to record 'Triad' - a song about 3-way sex.It was eventually recorded by not by The Byrds but by The Jefferson Airplane. Crosby had already infuriated McGuinn by joining The Buffalo Springfield on stage at the Monterrey Pop Festival in June 1967.The writing was on the wall for David & it was: 'E-X-I-T'. Recently David Crosby turned up during the November 2004 U.S. Election with Graham Nash on a podium with: "Vote for Crosby & Nash". Crosby Stills & Nash are touring again this summer.I am trying to get a ticket for their Hammersmith Apollo gig but my student pass is 20 years out of date!.
yeah the Columbia Legacy reissue of Notorious has some great but slightly voyeuristic studio out-takes of them all bickering whilst laying down tracks for the album, very interesting to listen to though
I haven't got those 'outtakes' on my C.D. - I must get an updated one!. Are they really lashing out at each other? Also I recall reading that McGuinn wasn't at all keen on Crosby's 'Mind Gardens' track from the Younger Than Yesterday sessions. In fact ; are any Byrds fans keen on that track??.
cutting and huffy would probably sum it up. Yeah "Mind Gardens" really stinks but he redeems himself totally with "Everybody's been Burned"
Yoshime Battles The Pink Robots (5.1 surround sound dub) This album is intense, immersive, incredibly well produced (they worked with the guy who did Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody) and very very detailed and diverse. An amazing amazing album.
and Weezer's first two albums are good pop records too. I like pinkerton more, but it's really a toss up.
