what's your job? personal assistant to president of two small companies, one is high-end renovations and the other is selling pricey windows and doors in nyc and brooklyn. i'm just working part time from home right now.
how do you feel it adds to or detracts from who you are? it makes me feel good about myself... accomplished i guess, and the money helps me do what i want/need to do...
where did you educate or are you educating yourself? texas tech university, planning to take more classes on the side but not sure where
where do you see yourself in 10 years? hmm probably sticking to the construction field, but not sure what area, maybe project management... not sure yet.
how do you define success? being happy with where you are in life... for me that's gotta be a well-rounded life, where relationships and work are good and i'm still motivated to keep getting better/moving ahead. oh and money is important... as bad as that might sound, i want a nice house and car and money to take off work and go on vacations and for my kids to be involved in various extracurricular stuff.

Okay, I will give this a shot.

    I am self employed.

Running businesses is kind of a pain because it distracts me from living an even more reckless life.

I have no idea why I am sill playing the game of money. (Wow! Major self revelation.)

I have a degree in Marketing and Law. But I have never practiced being an attorney.

I am also educating myself in various ways.

In 10 years I will be dead.

Success to me is when I can make my girlfriend smile.

what's your job? manage pizza place
how do you feel it adds to or detracts from who you are? i noticed 90% of the posters in this thread didn't see the "how" in this question... i don't think my actions at work particularly affect who i am, although the money i make gives me freedom to pursue my interests, while the time i have to spend at work or on call takes that freedom away...
where did you educate or are you educating yourself? i have a psychology degree, but that's pretty damn meaningless... i've been seriously thinking about going back to school sooner rather than later, although i'm still not sure what exactly i want to do with it...
where do you see yourself in 10 years? mental hospital
how do you define success? literally, i define it as accomplishing what you set out to do. in my case that would involve a slightly better job and a woman that doesn't want me to be her girlfriend
    so here's a fun exercise...

    what's your job?
    I work for Toyota/Lexus
how do you feel it adds to or detracts from who you are?
It's a flexible job, it's not a career, and it's not who I am. It adds something to my resume for the subject I study in school. It's decent, easy and I can be friendly at my job.
where did you educate or are you educating yourself?
UWO. I am still educating myself.
where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Married, own a house, traveled, happy.
    how do you define success?
Getting a job doing something I'm good at, I'd think. And something I love doing? It's a personal thing to define my own successes.

    what's your job?
Currently, I am an English teacher
how do you feel it adds to or detracts from who you are?
It helps me feel positive about my contribution to the business world. I can work without feeling that I'm selling out to anything or anybody and the kids I encounter keep me connected with the child in myself.
where did you educate or are you educating yourself?
Started at uni and have been learning ever since.
where do you see yourself in 10 years?
    I haven't got a clue. I should just insert bird's answer here.
    how do you define success?
Acheiving what it is that you want to do, whatever that may be.

what's your job? I'm a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Consultant (a fancy way of saying a Behavioralist)
how do you feel it adds to or detracts from who you are? It has helped me get back to what I like doing, has helped guide me back to me. I work with kids and from home, so I get to make sure I set and adhere to my own values. Also, since it is my first job out of management in a long time I work a lot less than I used to and have virtually zero stress.
where did you educate or are you educating yourself? I have a BA in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Psychology, a bunch of CEU's from conferences and have been working in the field since I was 19.
where do you see yourself in 10 years? As a therapist with a booming practice.
how do you define success? Being happy, having enough time for family and hobbies, feeling connected to society, being a giver to society rather than a taker. And also, for all practical purposes being able to pay all of your bills, eat healthy food and have enough left over for entertainment, fun and travel.

what's your job? Whatever I can get that doesn't need any formal qualifications, mainly customer service. Can be anything from ice cream truck driving, backpackers hostel duty manager, working with pets etc.

how do you feel it adds to or detracts from who you are? When it involves customer service it is very tedious and makes me unnaturally hateful and distrustful of people and cynical of the world in general. As long as it isn't too tedious I pretty much enjoy all other types of menial work, from painting to looking after animals. Manual work makes one feel grounded and sort of free...although I constantly long for something a lot more thought provoking.

where did you educate or are you educating yourself? High school. I had to leave university due to illness and should be back in a year or so. I read a lot.

where do you see yourself in 10 years? Living in a Buddhist monastery in Thailand. Hitchhiking through Mexico. Travel writing. Living on a boat......or settling down with a wife and starting out in a new academic career....or living alone, working as little as possible and just living a very simple life enjoying each day as it comes

how do you define success? For me it would be freedom from all the wrong, tedious, cliched, bureaucratic, undignified untruths that plague modern life and we fall victim to without even the slightest struggle because its easy just to accept what you're given. Any life where I don't have to do something which I think is wrong, or useless would be a very successful one.

nah, to tell the truth i pretty much lost interest in it toward the end; it was interesting to study but i just can't see myself dedicating my life to it. i disagree with a lot of what was taught, plus i just dislike people too much to work closely with them as a career.

my job is I work at an insurance company in the "word center" where I create power point presentations, manuals, transcribe claim statements, type up claim letters and other stuff..
It doesn't add or detract from who I am.. It's not that deep...it's a job, not my life...
Ten years ago I didn't think I would be here so it's pretty safe to say I don't know where I will be in ten years...
How do you define success.. easy, being happy...I don't define my "job" or "career" or "money" as what equals my success is life, that's lame... I define success as me being completely content in my life and just being happy...
