What Do You Consider The Worst Possible Crime And Why?

I did not vote in your pole as the options listed make it impossible to vote as none of those are crimes that do not victimize. If any one of those were to be perpetrated against anyone I loved or myself I would feel that it was the "worst".

Arguably murder may be the ultimate crime but ironically it is probably the one that most families and loved ones will adjust to and deal with, after mourning, the easiest. Be that whether the perpetrator is caught and punished or not. Death has finality to it and after mourning people have defensive coping skills that will allow them to move on with the feeling that at least their loved one is no longer suffering.

All of the others listed, not so. Each one has ramifications not only for the victims of those crimes but for families and friends who try to help, or support the victims of that crime. While some will be able to find a measure of peace the ramifications are still there in that it is a life changing experience. Not everyone has coping skills, even with professional help, and it can destroy their lives. That in turns also destroys all those that care about them.

In the case of murder the judicial system is geared to punishment and it is fairly well defined. In all the others the laws are often archaic and the victim is further raped by the system and are helpless once again to right any wrong. So they not only have to deal with a crime they then have to deal with a system that blames them for maybe not making the right choices, telling someone and so on.

For anyone who has one of these crimes perpetrated against them personally, I am sure that they feel it is heinous and so will their families.

I cannot think of valid reasons to molest a child or beat a wife or child. The rest I can find valid reasons for. It's cruel to take something away from someone who cannot defend themselves, who has done nothing wrong, and has the full ability to feel it touch the very fiber of their being, yet can do so little to help themselves.

 

I had a difficult time between molesting and murder but in the end chose murder. Reasoning is that murder victims have no chance at recovery, where victims of molesters can still have a chance at healing. Very tough choice as all are horrible crimes.

 

Kiddie Fiddlin'.. I like how that was put. I find that to be the worst of them all, due to the fact is alters someone's whole life around and adds many fears and phobia's that can wreck havok on those with self-being issues and weak of will. I know a lot of people with issues of this sort.. it sadden's me wondering how much their life would have been different if the events never happened.

Wife Beatin' comes next.. though, if you're a woman and you're man beats you, leave him... don't be some suck up that comes back for another round with joe-blow self-proclaimed Mike Tyson. Olds codes of Chivalry, you don't hit a woman.. though, modern times.. I know women that could pound the crap out of me, so there's reason in some cases to defend through means of retaliation.

Handicapped and elderly.. eh, you should know better then to fuck with you're elders.

Meat.. eh.. raised vegan, now carnivore... if you don't eat the meat, you'll just stumble upon the carcasses in a dumpster cause nobody ate it and it went bad.

And murder.. well, eh.. depends on the situation. I won't disagree it's bad, but if someone was going to do you in and you knew.. beat em at their own game. Just going out there on a spree with no motives is wrong, at least make it count, and make sure you end you life as well so it doesn't do anymore damage. I can't say it fits a worst crime scenario..

 

Grated all of those acts of violence/sexual misconduct are despicable, nothing is worse than murder - there is no way the victim of murder can "come back" from the crime. Excluding slaughtering animals (which I don't think even compares to the other crimes on the list) from the crime list all of the victims survive and have the ability to recover from their abuse expect for murder victims - think that seals the point i'm trying to make.

In the end I picked murder and the reason being...... If you abuse a child I would like to think/hope in the future they might recover from it and go on to lead a normal life.

Murder on the other hand is the end of someones life,its final and it can never be undone.

ok so between kiddi fiddlin' and murder, like other people said, someone can recover from being raped, but idk, cuz thats the difference between torture and death. I would much rather just be killed than to be tortured. with that in mind, the eye-for-eye basis would kill both victim and murderer, but for kiddie fiddlin', both lifes are ruined more. so yeah i'll say kiddie fiddlin' is worse.

but i logically can't justify animal slaughter over a human killing another human. i don't really value human life over other animal life, we're just capable of more. and if we humans did much better with our capabilities than we do now by protecting the earth and it's beings, then i'd change my mind on how i value humans.
