Wait... sooo, you're not supposed to hurt or kill anyone... buut...Yoko should die? Sometimes hippies confuse me...
When John Lennon was shot, I was 16, and he was my teacher. His blunt, loving message worked for me. And I love Yoko. Lennon was not perfect, and I met a guy that went to school with him, and said he was an a**hole. I bet he was, he had a talent for ticking folks off. I bet he wished he didn't. The announcer said, John Lennon has been shot. then later, they came back on to say he died. That sucked. He was just a musician/songwriter, but as far as musician/songwriters go, he was a keeper. Imagine all the people sharing all the world.
Ha ha... thats right, im reading a book that told me about ow john beat people up and bullied people when he was in school....
Overrated. Overrated because he got shot. I find a lot of his solo work boring and contrived. And somewhat phony. Some nice songs but nothing I listen to regularly (and yes, I do own several of his solo and plastic ono band albums so I have a bsis for that judgement) ~Layla
I've always been a fan of John, but in my opinion, he was terribly overrated...I'm a bit of a Harrison fan myself. George was terribly overlooked in the Beatles and I don't think he got near enough recognition even with his success after they split. I dunno...something about George just always seemed so damn genuine and loving...John always had that creative out-there kinda vibe, but...I'm a dark horse of sorts myself...so...yeah. My bad, didn't mean to start rambling about George, this is a John post afterall.
*claps and whistles* Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm always a bit miffed that John gets so much praise while Hari gets nothing. I like John....sometimes...kinda.....but I LOVE George. He just seemed so much more real and deep. ~Layla
