    Sorry, you're wrong.

Fruit sugar should also be consumed in moderation, since it is also processed by the liver and also puts the body into fat storage mode.

You're completely wrong about oils. Yes, some oils are very bad. Many are in fact, and even more so when heated. However, this is not the case for coconut oil, olive oil, and some of the nut oils. Just because something is an oil does not make it bad. Many health conscious people eat coconut oil raw in fairly large quantities. I know I do.

Coconut oil and olive oil are whole foods.

Many people eat coconut and olive oil because they believe them to be healthy. And they are not whole foods. Coconuts and olives are whole foods. That was my point. Fat should come from whole foods, because it's more balanced this way. Why do you think oils are healthy? (the ones you've mentioned)

Whole foods are foods which are not processed. Olive oil and coconut oil are not what I consider to be processed foods. They are produced naturally from coconuts and olives, they do not contain artificial ingredients or additives, and have been consumed for a very long time.

Whole foods can be naturally sourced from other foods and still be considered whole foods.

Coconut oil and olive oil is very healthy. I mean, they are an excellent source of healthy saturated fats which speed up the metabolism, they have an outstanding omega 3 to 6 ratio, and coconut oil contains lauric acid, which has antimicrobial and antiviral properties and has been found to increase a person's high-density (good) cholesterol.

I could go on and on about the benefits of coconut and olive oil (but coconut oil especially).

So tell me why YOU believe coconut oil and olive oil to be bad.... other than because you hear the word "oil" and automatically assume it's bad?

Here is a great six minute video which dispels the myths surrounding coconut oil being "unhealthy," and why it is in fact very healthy.

I agree with you that they are superior to other sources of fat.
The problem (in my opinion) is that they are 100%fat. The coconuts and the olives would be a lot better. They would still give you the healthy fats in addition to everything else.
By consuming oils it is very likely to consume way too much fat, which is not healthy at all. Also, fat has more than double the calories per gram of either carbs and proteins. It may speed up your metabolism, but if you eat too many calories you (impersonal you) will get fat anyway.
Also, the liver produces all the cholesterol we need, it's not an essential nutrient.

There is nothing wrong with 100% fat if it's non-hydrogenated fat from a healthy source. Fat has been demonized by the media and medical establishment over the years, so when people hear the word, they automatically think it's bad. It's not. I believe that up to 70% of a person's diet should be from healthy fats.

Also, some of the most up-to-date research shows that not all calories are created equal, so if you follow the calories-in/calories-out approach to dieting, you may be doing yourself more harm than good in the long run. There is a HUGE difference in how your body uses calories from sugar and calories from fat. HUGE difference!!!

Calories from sugar get stored as fat, while calories from fat are immediately used by the body as fuel. Calories alone do not make a person fat. It depends largely on where those calories come from. I probably eat close to 1,000 calories a day in raw almonds alone.

Also, you would need to eat an awful lot of coconuts to get the same health benefits you get from eating coconut oil.

    70%???? I completely disagree.
I didn't say fat was automatically bad, I do think we need some fat, but nowhere ear 70%.
Also, in order for the body to use food for fuel, it converts it into simple sugars anyway (whether it contains mainly carbs, proteins or fat).
Sorry, I just completely disagree, so let's just leave it here, cause we have monopolized this thread haha.
It's an interesting topic though, isn't it?

Well, to finish off what I had yesterday, for lunch I had Frito pie, ate the rest of those pretzels for a snack later, then I had ham, butter noodles, and green beans for dinner. Also a little Hershey's bar spaced throughout the day.

Today so far I have had a piece of white bread with a little Parkay for "breakfast" and for lunch I'm currently having onion tater tots and a few mini corndogs. They're freezer burnt, so I think I will keep it at a few.

I think it's fairly obvious weight loss isn't my number 1 priority at the moment. ;)

About a half hour ago I polished off about 1/2 lb of organic sliced turkey breast and about a half a container of macadamia nuts to hold me over until dinner.
