Lox, good stuff! Did you have it on a bagel with some cream cheese, Luce? That's the way to go! :D

Mmm, moussaka. I haven't had it in a long time.

That's how I had it. On a Montreal-style bagel. I tried a new brand, "Oze". It's become my favourite bagel to date. Better than St. Viateur, Baz. That's almost blasphemous to say!

It's not blasphemy, you're no heathen. :D Taste is subjective. For example, I had a McDonald's poutine today and liked it. You might think that's sacrilegious and it can't compare to a freshly made healthy poutine from another place in Montreal I tried, Chez Julie.

The poutine itself was delish with the fresh cut Golden potatoes, peppercorn gravy and cheese curds. But the pretty bowl was the topper!

Almost ready to eat a Lyfe Kitchens- Orange Mango Chicken in Orange Sauce meal....w green tea infused whole grains (lol okay....reading box...) and steamed kale and broccoli.

Earlier I had.... haha this is terrible I had mashed potatoes and gravy and it was delicious.

I also had broccoli and brussel sprouts and a salad w kale and spinach (olive oil/ACV)...
And I had bacon and eggs.

    And an orange.

MacDonald's! That is going too far. The latter restaurant sounds much more sophisticated. Hmm… looks like red potatoes and mushroom gravy to me. Did the bowl make it back to the restaurant kitchen? Or did you leave several grams heavier? How much poutine do you eat? You should be eating lox, like a good Jewish boy.

I'm sure Baz would lend you some of his cheese curds. ;-)

Sure, I'll share some curds, I'm a regular little Miss Muffet.

I eat a lot more poutine than I do lox, typical Québecois Jew. :D

Oh, was it red potatoes and mushroom in the gravy? Looks like you're right, Luce. The waitress gave me a bum steer. And I was too chicken to snatch the cute poutine bowl, the waitress was eyeing me suspiciously. Must have been the Habs tuque and scarf I was wearing in this weather.

You sound a vision. More likely it was the silverware peeking out of your lapel getting the looks.

Maybe you should try a lox poutine. lol You can enter it in next year's poutine month fare!

I am thinking that is one thing I have never tried... that I would try. I would try pretty much any food.

My Lyfe Kitchens meal... well, let's just say when I eat frozen food I always buy from the health food section (Amy's Kitchen, Blake's, etc.) and this was from that section but gah, it really tasted way too heath food ish. I ate it all because gotta feed the baby but it wasn't great.

I wish I had corn on the cob. I do have some non-gmo corn kernals (blue lightening kind) that are super good that I may soon put in a brown bag and pop in microwave... hmm dunno need something else to eat and need to go grocery shopping tomorrow...

That could have been the reason for all the dirty looks. More likely it was because I shouted "Go Habs Go!" after each forkful of poutine.

A lox poutine, that's brilliant! A perfect marriage of my ethnic and religious food families. :D I'll insist that Chez Julie add it to their menu next time I drop in.

I'm not sure what I'd call it. A can of green beams, a flavor packet from Rice a Roni Chicken & Mushroom, curry & two chicken thighs.

Cook the green beans and mix with the flavor packet and 1/4 cup water & 1 tablespoon of dry milk. Cook on low heat.

While that's doing, cook the chicken thighs. When cooked, cut the meat off the bones (I live nibbling on the bones), and add the cut chicken to the green bean mix. Cook it on low heat for a while longer, then turn the heat off and let it sit for 15 minutes with the lid on the pan.

Now pour it into a bowl, and season it with salt, pepper & the curry. I love curry so I put a lot on there.

    That actually tasted pretty good!
