Fried eggs for breakfast, and I roasted a chicken today. The chicken is for my husband and I to nibble on throughout the week though.
Not scratch, I fear being super uncoordinated, slamming the pan and cracking the glass. Irrational but real in my mind. There was talk of cevapcici on a random thread recently, my first try at them. Not bad but I need to work on the seasoning (and plating) but still really good.
LOL Exactly why I would never have one. I'd break it within a week. But a gas stove would be nice. I don't know what cevapcici is, I'll have to look it up, but it looks good. Just put some parsley sprigs on it. Cooks put parsley on everything.
My building doesn't have gas, but induction is cool. It's a Balkan treat of seasoned ground meat. The parsley is there, bottom right, just got cropped out a bit.
Today I barbecued some steaks for everyone (extra rare, almost blue) and sliced them really thin to have alongside some leftover salads from last night. Just a tiny bit of salt and pepper on them and some olive oil.
Are at a mom and pops version of Dave and busters. No I don't eat at McDonald's ok I took some mcnuggets to go last week but only because i wanted to use the bathroom. First time I at food from there in about 10 years.
Today I made some yum-cha style rolls. Ther darker ones are a baked BBQ pork bun and the other is Custard bun (known as pineapple for the topping on the buns) That's a white person description. In Chinese the pork bun is called Char Siu Bau. We are good with pork in Germany, so these are delicious.
Induction is cool, my parents have induction. It works so fast! What I really want though is a wood burning Aga oven. Always hot, always ready to go. Some day when I am rich I will have one. It is a very different style of cooking you have to do on it though.
Yeah that is good. I haven't had McDolands in several years. It just isn't worth eating that shit and being able to literally see it on my arse an hour later..
I wish I could do that. I have some serious junk food cravings at times. I was meant to do a dry July no BIG 3. KFC, MacDonalds or Pizza Hut. I think I've done all 3 so far. >.> I now plan to just make my own pizza and MacDonalds. I remember I aced the quarterpounder taste once with the right mustard and stuff.
Bob's Red Mill whole grain and bean soup mix, kimchi (it's red because I put beet root in this time), and homegrown kale, and swiss chard.
Breakfast today. I'd never pass culinary school. Misshapen pancakes, broken yolk, torn up bacon… But it did taste good.
Had to stick my nose right to the screen to see that bit of parsley. :-D That does sound like a treat. It's similar to the sausage sandwich I get at the Italian café, called a Sicilian. The sausage isn't in a casing, it's ground meat with spices shaped into a long piece then put on ciabatta bread with goodies like roasted red peppers, fried onions, marinated eggplant and spicy mayo (made with a Bomba Calabrese hot antipasto paste).
Presentation isn't everything the main issue is taste and it looks tasty! Just say you have a rustic plating style
Hello, what looks like a cup full of puke at the moment will be yummy chocolate custard in a few minutes : Regards Gyro
Early dinner tonight. I made a pork loin roast dressed with heirloom tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, red onions, herbs and pearl bocconcini cheese. Oven roasted taters and steamed asparagus. It was good! View attachment 1848 So much great food being posted on here, gives me great ideas for new things to try.
