Was that from organic blue corn meal? From what I understand organic is the only corn that is supposed to be GMO free. GMO corn supposedly doesn't have the flavor of heirloom variety's and unfortunately most native variety's that survived up until just this last couple of decades in Mexico have been wiped out, not only due to market forces eliminating the profit margins for the small farmers that grew them, but cross contamination from GMO crops have ruined the genetics. These are sad days for corn indeed.. Made a beef stir fry tonight and served it on jasmine rice. Side of tomato, cucumber, celery and red onion salad dressed in with balsamic and lemon olive oil.
Indeed there's a LOT of GMO corn on the market, this is usually what traditional farmers choose to grow. The only way to avoid it pretty much is to choose organic, because being GMO-free is a prerequisite for organic certification so you can't go wrong with that.
Tonight I made some pea soup with tomato sandwiches and corn on the cob, it was simple but damn good.
I used some of my tomatoes and made a bisque for supper. Served it with open face rye bread topped with dijon, smoked honey ham and smoked gouda which I broiled until it was all melted.
i bought 2 small eye of round pepper steaks then cut them into 4 thin ones so they cook faster and a small can of corn i am stuffed full
