Not today, but last week I cooked salmon on the BBQ with a salad and some grilled zucchini and patty pan squash.

I tried a new breakfast recipe today. Baked Eggs in Avocado. This version had sausage sprinkled on top but you could use a variety of toppings. It was okay. I prefer my avocado raw. If I were to make it again, I'd leave it in just enough time for the eggs to cook. It's pretty quick to make. The hardest part is keeping the egg whites from sliding out of the avocado. You have to make sure to scoop out enough avocado to make room for the egg and then secure the avocado halves so they don't move around while you're getting it into the oven.

I just made two sausage sandwiches and really enjoyed them but know I will now go to hell because eating meat is evil even though it's God's fault for not making me a better person. And that in a nutshell is my philosophy.

Seems like eggs are in style today! I got some too, sunny side up, with italian sausages, hash browns, a handful of strawberries and toasts.

Yep, def an eggs day. I'm back to the omelette. lol I made a chervil and chives today. Those are Honey Crisp apples I got at the farmer's market yesterday. They're quite tart and a bit sweet. I prefer the Sunrise that I picked up last week, which are a little tart, but more balanced with the sweetness.

I'm interested in trying this too but frankly I am so used to eating bread with breakfast and lunch I have a hard time replacing it with something that is equally satisfying in regards of feeling stuffed and to my liking. It also has to not be too light (I can actually use some more weight on me), and it shouldn't need a lot of time to prepare :p.
If someone has some ideas please share! :)

    This looks so, so good.

I don't eat bread, and I don't really miss it.

I'm sure I can do completely without it too (although I like good bread with good cheese or meat a lot). It's like i said, I'm so freaking used to fill up on it on breakfast and lunch I have a hard time replacing it with something that fills me up and fuels me adequatly and in the same way. Thinking outside of the box where it comes to my breakfast and lunch habits seems not my strongpoint. Thanks for the tips anyway ;) :D (you can still enlighten me with some!)

I'm three days in so far and I am craving a pizza with a side of garlic bread like crazy. I ate a lot of bread too so I guess I'll be going through withdrawals for a few days.

as far as filling up, bread gives you immediate satiety but a diet of veggies, eggs, meat, and healthy sources of fat keeps you feeling satisfied longer. I haven't really been getting spikes of hunger throughout the day. I am really craving bread though.

Well I could live (and work) all day on mainly bread so I really never identified with that insulin/energy spike and then getting hungry again after an hour or 2. I do get hungry when I (try to) live on veggies and healthy sources of fat like nuts and stuff. I understand I have to figure out the right foods and combinations but so far I can't come up with a good one for me so I am eager to hear tips and ideas.
It is also not that I dislike bread or that it isn't working for me, it is just that I would like to try to skip it out and see what kind of difference it makes (energywise for example). I acknowledge it isn't the most worthwile stuff to fill up on, although I don't regard good quality bread as unhealthy food and you can survive and even live fine on it in my experience :p

I'm doing it for a couple of reasons - I've been feeling ragged lately and I wonder if its diet related so I'm going to try eliminating different things until I feel better. Also I have a cavity as well as a dentist phobia and I've heard your teeth will remineralize when you cut out grains and sugars. So I'm doing a little experiment.

when you cut out grains you really have to introduce an abundance of healthy fats a la the pressed rat diet. Fat also leaves you feeling full and satiated for a long time
