Thanks Luce, it's clear from your before and after pics just how well you've mastered the true Classic French omelette à la Jacques! Oh and nice comeback, though somehow I didn't picture you as a smoker.
Mine were much worse before Jacques showed me the light. lol Go practice! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57afEWn-QDg Don't forget the shaking, it makes all the difference. I forgot to shake the pan a few times and it was nowhere near as good. Plus it doubles as a nice workout!
Did you heat up the milk? :-D Breakfast today. Another omelette, I'm obsessed! Dill and chives in the omelette. And more wild blueberries. Homemade hash browns this time for a treat!
Come on up! How about dinner? Frozen pizza. lol Well I put the oven on! I like these little multi-colour carrots.
Never saw carrots like that before. I heated up a piece of grilled chicken and heated 2 tortillas and topped them with MaePloy Spicy Sweet Pepper Sauce.
I made my favourite pancakes, kamut and oat. With maple syrup of course, and peaches and blueberries. And maple bacon. And my sad over easy egg. I use coconut milk, coconut greek yogurt and coconut oil in the batter.
I'm the only one eating! Well I know Baz is stuffing his face. (And just too lazy to take a pic.) I'm having some of my seafood chowder for dinner that I had frozen. For breakfast it was scrambled eggs. I'm giving the Classic French omelette a rest.
I made pasta with meat sauce and lots of cheese for lunch, it was the bomb. And tonight I cooked some carribean fried fish, with fries and a salad on the side!
lol Stuffing my face like a piggy! No need to whisper Luce, I can still hear you. Your scrambled eggs and bacon breakfast looks fabulous, like all your omelettes. But what really had me drooling was the Pizza you cooked! :drool5:
Cooked, lol. That's stretching it. I have a chuckle every time I look at your avatar. Poor little piggy begging for food. You know you're only allowed to wear the chef's hat if you actually do the cooking, not just the eating.
lol You're right, I really should remove my chef's hat, I have no business being in the kitchen. :chef: X I guess my plate's empty because I keep stuffing the food down my snout, shoveling it down like the food's going out of style.
Do it, it's amazing! I usually do it with whole fresh tilapia (with the tail, head and all) that I rub with cajun spices, then I put it in a roastpan with lots of oil, chopped onion and tomato, garlic, jalapeno pepper and lime juice, and bake in the oven . Other types of fish would be delicious too but I'd recommend you use the whole fish and not just fillets, so the flesh stays firm while cooking (fillets tend to turn into mush after a while).
I want to try this no bread/pasta thang for a while and see how it makes me feel and I also want to eat light and detox a bit this week so tonight I just threw some squash, zucchini, and cherry tomatoes in a wok and seasoned with basil and oregano.
Ohh tilapia, good idea. I was thinking of red snapper but I see tilapia here more often. I've bought the fillets, I'll get whole next time. I've made blackened catfish with cajun spices. Love those spices.
Red snapper is also a good candidate for that recipe! I usually go for tilapia though, simply cause it's cheaper.
