No well I think that well - Um, I marinaded the pork in sour orange and other stuff. Instead of pitching the sour orange marinade I pitched it in the crock pot with the meat, thusly making the dish way too SOUR!! The dogs HATE citrus and would NOT touch the sour thing!! I went back and added more un-marinaded meat and veg and didn't add anything else and well I can eat it in tortillas with avocado on top. But now I have a large amount of questionable favored food. I froze some and I ate some but it's not an enjoyable thing like eating should be.
Wow this is the zaniest thread... I gotta say you need a strong stomach here! Today is young, if anything interesting gets cooked I'll get back
Chicken soup I made yesterday in the crockpot. And breakfast today. Dill scrambled eggs with sautéed potatoes and strawberries, blueberries and carambola (starfruit).
I had some leftover meat and potato mixture i froze from last week's papas rellenas, after i thawed them out they were too watery to roll into balls so i just dumped some leftover mac n cheese in it and am baking it right now. I plan to pour copious amounts of aji sauce on it
I got myself a few different mushrooms the other day and have been waiting for a time that my boyfriend was out to cook them, since he hates mushrooms. I had fresh thyme too so I made a mushroom and thyme cream sauce and pasta for lunch.
Roast beef dinner tonight. It was good but for some reason my gravy was not as punchy as usual. Did baked potatoes, asparagus, yorkshire puddings, balsamic basil lemon oii tomato slices and baguette.
I made a pork loin roast, covered in a packet of Lipton's Onion Soup mix, with carrots, sweet potatoes, onions, and garlic. I made it in the slow cooker. Yum!
Do you make your Yorkshire pudding from scratch, Heat? I'm wondering how difficult they are to make. I've always wanted to try making them but it sounds so complicated.
Last night, we had New York Strip cooked over the fire pit. It was awesome. I just nuked some baked potatoes to go with it. For desert we had roasted marshmallows.
Campfire food is so good. I love roasted marshmallows. That's nice having a pit in your own yard. Not a paste per se. I grind my own curry powder from whole spices (except turmeric, I buy that already ground). I grind the spices just before I make the curry, they're especially aromatic that way, and mix it with coconut milk. And I add fresh onions, garlic and ginger root.
Those ones are by Presidents Choice and they are actually really good when I do not feel like making them from scratch. When I do I use this recipe and they have always turned out really well. The biggest issue is to make sure that the oil is heated until it is almost smoking and then add the batter quickly and not open the oven door or they will flatten. I use my blender and make sure it is really well mixed, 4 large eggs 1 1/2c milk 1/2 tsp coarse salt 1 1/4 c all purpose flour. Refrigerate 30 minutes Oven 425 and heat pans, add to pans evenly 4 tbs of oil or drippings, reheat pans, Pour batter in to 3/4 full and put back in oven for 15-20 minutes. Makes one dozen.
