i stopped taking the pill (ortho tri cyclen lo) 6 months ago after being on it for years and i'm glad i did.. i didn't like messing with my hormones either and not letting my body do what it needs to do naturally. my cycle is pretty normal now and is in sync with the moon

    so i just use condoms

I have used the pill, the nuva-ring, the patch, and now I have an IUD. The pills suck if you are like me and forget things easily. The nuva-ring is nice because it's not a daily thing, but I hated putting it in... its very annoying. Plus, my boyfriend at the time when I used it claimed he could feel it. I tried the patch but didn't like it because it made me feel trashy because people can visually see it. I love having an IUD. I can get it removed whenever, but it is good for five years. Out of site, out of mind. I like no stressing about it. And... it may be expensive, but my health insurance pretty much covered it. And if you look at it from this perspective: you have to keep buying pills, patches, rings, condoms, etc. With the IUD, you only have to buy it once every 5 years.

I'm not sexually activve ( :( ), but I'm currently reading Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Wheschler (sp?)
It's really a great book so far- I'm learning tons :)
It's all about the Fertility Awareness Method, and how there's only a small window of time when you can get pregnant (while ovulating) and that's the only time you need to use protection. :sunny:

nuvaring. Nuvaring has all the same effects as the pill, but you only have to thing about it once a month! if you don't mind putting something inside of yourself... it's the best contraceptive method.

Good old fashioned condoms. They're easy to get, reliable, and don't mess with my hormones. The only annoying part is getting ones that feel good for him. I don't like that a lot of them desensitize the guy. I want him to enjoy having sex and not hate that we have to use a condom. Trojans are usually good though.

i have the best 2 forms of birth control

*I have had a tubal ligation. Not being married, and with little likelihood of being so, in my early 30's I opted for the full monty, as there was no way I could have another child.
the Pill was unsuitable and condoms break ......... so

    * The best birth control however is ........... I have sex with women. It's been well over 5 years since I last had sex with a guy. Ergo, no little swimmers.!
