I absolutely love them too. Have I mentioned that I saw orang-utans in their natural habitat in Sumatra?
It was such an amazingly beautiful experience to be able to see those wonderful animals really close and even be able to touch them. This was during a three day trek in the jungle and it is definately one of the highlights in my travels.

i love apes, but they're one of the saddest sights at the zoos

 

Yeah, they all look so unhappy in zoos. I never go to zoos anymore, to see animals in their natural habitat is so much more fulfilling and rewarding.

 

yeah. i'm pretty torn on zoos. i like seeing all the cool animals and almost never have a chance to see animals in their natural habitat, unless its a north american animal. i love moose and foxes and black bears and such a lot.

most of the zoo is okay.

but i fucking HATE seeing eagles and other birds in cages, no matter how big the cage is...

and i can't stand the apes and monkeys. they're so much like us...capable of intelligent thought, capable of language, emotions, using tools.....
they may not have the same mental abilities as adult humans...but its fucking depressing.

last time i went to the zoo i saw the gorillas in a big glass cage. there was an opening to the outside, too, but most were indoors at the time

one guy, this GIANT old beast, was in the corner, facing the corner, apparently sick and tired of being gawked at. he stayed there for a while then just started freaking out. throwing food bowls around, hitting things, causing a ruckus.....


i can't blame him

what do you want fake tits for?? they aren't good for much of anything.

neither are eggs. they're good for making things like cake and cookies and french toast, but thats it.

 

Yeah, that's so sad.
I have actually seen an eagle in a really small cage in which it could not even fly. Just for people to watch. That kind of animal abuse really pisses me off.
