So far it is dragging for me, hope grows more in suspense as I continue...

i just got done reading that the other day actually. really mind opening book and so fun to read... i was sad when it was done. safe to say my mind was almost completley blown though and i have a whole new perspective on acid and drugs....

now im reading "Finding Your Way Home" by Melody Beattie... really good book and it came to me at a good time. all about finding your place in this world, and remembering how blessed+protected you are and how everyone has angels and god and their soul watching over them juuust the way their supposed to... and how you need to stay in tune with love and your heart, and everything will unfold perfectly. very inspiring stuff, gonna be a trip to stick with it but so far its making a loooot of sense.

I think I'm about to start Pride and Prejudice. I saw a preview for the movie at the Corpse Bride and remembered my Junior and Senior year English teacher let our class go through all the old books in the high school book room that they were planning on throwing away and we ended up bringing home a ton and Pride and Prejudice happened to be in my stack and I still haven't read it.

A Respectable Army. It's about the Colonial military during the War for American Independance. It's interesting, but very stale reading.

    It's also for a class.

The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.

freedbypeace--Ishmael is probably the most influential text I've ever read. definitely recommend The Story of B and My Ishmael as the other two of the trilogy.

Voided37: No, I've had a few good editors-- ones that didn't change a goddamn word! I always handed in clean copy-- no spelling or grammatical mistakes. But that was long ago when I still wanted to be a reporter. A few school board meetings will soon cure one of that. Mostly, I was a columnist and a feature writer. I really enjoyed human interest stories, but after a while the thrill of seeing ones name in print fades.

Now, I'm beginning my second novel and I'm my own editor.

BTW, I'm re-reading "The Way of Zen", by Alan Watts. Maybe, someday, some of it will sink in to this drunken, hell-raising Irishman's thick head.
