I can't agree more. I absolutely love her work. I am working on Four Souls, it is about Fleur ( I don't know if you have met her in the books yet, but if you haven't you will soo). I think The Master Butcher's Singing Club is my favorite so far, but it is a bit different from her olther work. Although I do love Lipsha (sp?) who shows up in so many of the books.
    Happy reading!

    The Bingo Palace, Louise Erdrich

Fleur is probably my favorite character so far. Though I read Love Medicine a while back and need to refresh my memory on it. I just finished Tracks and thought that it was probably the best so far out of the series, and it concentrates mostly on Fleur, Pauline, and Nanapush (the grandfather of Lulu).

I just started the Bingo Palace yesterday, and in the first few chapters it forshadows Fleur teaching the old ways to Lipsha. The narrator said that the entire town was upset about it, that he was far from their first choice to have the traditions passed down. But, in the narrator's description (I don't know who narrated it yet) reminded me so much of Fleur. He seems to be misunderstood, everyone sees him as a criminal and strange. I thought, poor Fleur, she even got blamed for the murder that Pauline committed, and here they are saying the same things about Lipsha. :)

Pretty interesting read if you are interested in science or history. Phosphorus is more interesting an element than I had thought, and it has an interesting history. It's an amazing accomplishment to write a whole book on just one element, but the author makes for an engaging read. Highly reccomended.
