Today I went to a restaurant and the waitress went on a three minute rant about how she loves my hair and she kept touching it and saying that I had "real dreads".

    It was awesome.

Nice! I would've been a little hesitant about some random stranger touching me, but it's always nice to find someone in your community appreciates your dreadlings!

It's not in my community, unfortunately... I'm visiting family in Texas. I WISH people in my community appreciated my dreads. >_<

Me and my husband have been at war a lot to the point of not talking to each other now. He promised me things would be better financially when we moved and they are not. His whole attitude towards our problems and his business makes me want a divorce. We have had no money during the summer because he gets students from the local school but they're on holiday. So instead of making it known to their parents that he will still be in business and at cheaper rates during the summer, he just sat on his ass doing fuck all.

Fucking waste of time he and his business are. I wish he could see this and go back to carpentry. He says that I've got it all wrong because money shouldn't be important to me. When we have to rely on government supplements to pay our rent, of course money is going to be everything to me. I hate his attitude of "the government will supplement our earnings, don't worry." IDONOTWANTTHEGOVERNMENTTOSUPPLEMENTUS!!! I want to support ourselves!

I am sick to death of having to remind him that the business needs running and he still does fuck all! I don't even know how he can even begin to think we "are doing ok".

:( hdh, it's really hard being with someone that has no motivation and always thinks they are right. how can one have pride in oneself when you have to depend on the government for support? I hope everything works out so that you're happy.

That's how I feel. Currently we're working on another business making things out of wood such as hair sticks, training weapons, doll houses, bird houses etc etc it has the potential to be a great little business. He's a superb carpenter so we could make a shit load, from my market research, we could make upto $55 per item but I know exactly how this is going to turn out before we've even begun.

Fair play he's brought some wood home but I'll bet money it'll end up as firewood. He never used to be this unmotivated...

Why do you think he is so unmotivated?

    Hope things look up soon.

I have no idea! He's worked all his life and then he got laid off two years ago and he hasn't worked since. I think he may like being able to sleep in til 3pm. I am always complaining about how much he sleeps during the day, but he says "if you haven't got anything to get up for might as well stay in bed".

He then had this great idea to be a guitar teacher and how he could get loads of business but he's making forty quid a week from two students. It was sixty but one didn't want to do it anymore. So yeah, forty quid a week and he thinks we're doing ok. Fucking joke.

I don't really have much motivation to go to work everyday, but I like eating and reefer too much.

Tell him to get his carpenter on. Until the end of time people are going to want chairs.

    So far I've
Decided socks weren't necessary today. Made it to work ON TIME. Developin hankerins to eat somethin spicy. Saw some comedians last night and failed miserably at trying to re-tell a joke.

This next part hasn't happened yet but Im just gonna make some predictions.
Nap time, cottage cheese, cheeba cheeba, din din, concert.

Socks totally aren't necessary today. EXTRA LOUD tv commercials also are unneeded.
But for some reason they plague me.

today has been wake up early, go back to sleep until afternoon, wait for school to start (less than a week YEAH!!) make tacos for mom and I, eat tacos in bed, lounge in bed with mum and watch Americas Next Top Model (it's a guilty fucking pleasure :p)

HDH shove wood in his face until he makes something, I can't imagine not having a happy life building things all day.

Give him a kick up the arse hdh. There's plenty of carpentry work in the SW, or at least there used to be. If he doesn't want to work for a company, he can be self-employed. I used to have friends in the area who were self-employed doing carpentry work and they made more money that way.

The problem is, once people don't work for a long time they lose all motivation to do anything and it's hard to snap out of it. Once he does, he'll wonder why the hell he was wasting all that time at home doing nothing. Good luck:)

one question i have is if he is not seeking gainful employment, why do y'all still get assistance. doesn't he have to be actively seeking a job? that's how it (is supposed to) works here in the US.

Worked a 21 hour day yesterday because some jerk was lighting fires up and down a logging road while the fire hazard rating is extreme.

8 hours off, and back to the grind.

Believe me, I'm trying. We can't travel far, having no car and the bus services being horrendous, so jobs have to be local. I am desperately trying to tell him that living here is not right for us and not relevent now the dog's gone but he won't have any of that talk.

Occassionally someone will have work going and he'll take it but that's not often. He just absolutely hates carpentry. Thanks to crappy homeschooling, he never reached his potential and never became an architect.

Self employment making large things isn't an option as he doesn't have the workspace or money to buy the tools... So we thought, if he made smaller things we could make a go at this business

Because technically he is self employed through teaching the guitar and because we don't earn enough we get assistance, So instead of looking for jobs he is looking for clients. He is supposed to recieving help from welfare to get his "business" off the ground but they're just making him search for other jobs. They're just as fucked as he is.
