thats really hard. I was super pissed that my family thought it better to preotect me then allow me to see my grandmother before she passed. i think in death all family issues should go out the door. Your granddad probably remembers you as a smiling laughing little girl.... even with everything thats happened. We rarely remember the bad times in life.

 

Maybe. I still feel shit for it. Its just too awkward. I'm hoping I don't have to speak to my other aunt about what it is he's left me. I hope she just mails it and I'll send hr a thankyou note. Its just too much being in contact with them now. I don't really feel they're family if you get me.

 

I am pissed that my on parents couldn't goddamn tell me he died.. But still, You'd think they'd have sent me an email or summat instead of via my dads sister in law. I agree with you so much Tanna, My cousin died aged 25 five years ago and the family had a "last supper" with him. I was banned from going by my mother who I called a bitch half an hour before we went because she said I was embarassingly emotional. I never saw him after that.

I haven't been through as much as it sounds like with you and your family... but I have had to make conscious decisions about how involved I am.

One person once suggested that our siblings were enemies in a past life and our goal in this lifetime is to live iwth them in peace. I often think that this could extend to our parents and sometimes... well, sometimes I guess we were just too big of enemies to get over it in this lifetime.

Just be grateful you have such a kickass husband.
