What are you/have you been doing today?

Vigilante, that is quite a bit of money for food, but he gets so much because of his son right? My sister-in-law would get about 400 a month for food for her, her baby, and husband.

I guess I am the cheapest shopper ever because I think I probably spend around 150-175 $ a month for food and that is not all the time, sometimes it is less. I buy what is on sale and only on sale. And I feed myself, husband and my son.

 

yep, it's because of his son. and everyone's food stamps have gone up since the beginning of the year as part of the stimulus or something (we got some letter that i skimmed through). i think where a lot ofour food expenses come in is that we don't always have the time to cook (although we should be more disciplined) so we buy thinks that are ready made, so they are more expesive. we almost never get fast food.

 

Get a crock pot so dinner is ready when you get home from work, make large batches of meals and freeze them for later use, rice, beans & veggies for a fast, healthy, homecooked cheap meal....the list is endless.
It really is not that hard to cook from scratch on a small budget, no matter how busy you are. The key to success is planning ahead.

but 175/month = less than 6 dollars a day for food for 3 people

 

depends how u shop like in bulk and super cheap and store brand food.... but that very little money for food.. i wish i knew how to shop for that less id save 500 bucks a month on food lol

 

holy crud! those expenses are huge!! I can probably get through a month on $150 that includes cigarettes and not eating out more than once in a while, but Im a pretty good cook so its no big deal

Yea 175, that is next to nothing food wise even if you are shopping 'smart'. I usually spend 40-50+ dollars on my self a week(sometimes less sometimes more). I think 400 a month for 3 ppl, two of them including men is not very much at all.

I just quit eating all poultry a month ago, I still have fish a couple times a month. Been like 2.5 years since I ate beef and even longer for porkola...

 

i cheat alot simple becuase of my family but i dont eat pork EVER blec
