I had a random parking charge once, which led me to discover that in the UK at least they are essentially unenforceable. There are 3 or 4 iron clad defenses and you should never ever pay them.

    In short form

1-They form a contract with the driver of the vehicle, not the keeper. They don't know who the driver is so they contact the keeper. If more than 1 person drives your car then make them prove who was driving it at the time

2-You have to have been aware of your contractual obligations, so if you can reasonably argue you didn't see then your off the hook

3-Contractual penalties are unenforceable in the UK, charges must reflect actual damages incurred (i.e. a few quid not £60+)

4-If they have not left you a note on your vehicle detailing the nature of the offence and their intention to contact the DVLA then they have improperly accessed the DVLA records and you should inform the DVLA and the ICO.

None of this works with the city council BTW you have to pay them, but IIRC nearly all contested tickets are dropped anyway.

yeah I'm definitely going to appeal for it back. I'm better at complaining so I'll write the letter tomorrow when I'm not so pissed off.

dragon thats shit about your boyfriend. sometimes in relationships things get a little too comfortable and people stop making effort. I think you should talk to him about it. There is no point in being with someone you can't open up to. it's not good to keep things inside when they're bothering you... <3

Thing is he is my best friend too, and I don't want to say anything too.. I dunno. He'll say something back worse, like he has just now and I'm in total agony cus I think I've lost a best friend :( fark sake I hate this ><

I know I'm needy, but I know he should be doing more than he is doing, he has barely talked to me in a week, plus his phone is dead, so I've basically been totally alone for more than a week which I've never done before.. Well once when we fell out before and that was for like 3 or 4 months.. that was hell.. but now its diefferent cus I'd be loosing more than a friend y'know? URH this sucks. Oh and now I'm getting a headache..

Guess I just gotta suck it up and remember why I love him.. Leave him to do his own thing..

I've been in a situation where I've instigated a break up more as a cry for attention then any actualy desire to break up. Suffice to say it went badly wrong and I regret it every day. I'm needy as fuck too, but knowing you are is 90% of the problem solved. So id say my net advice is do nothing, or call him a WoW faggot.

I was in love with my best friend once, he'd asked me out once but I declined (stupidly) Anyway like a year or so later we kissed and I told him how I felt etc etc and he tells me sorry but he's seeing some other chick. We don't speak anymore. From my experience when boys ignore you for a week they usually wanna break up. I feel like an ass for saying that. Sorry.

I only really play it for my mates benefit, and because my character has 20million SP so is actualy worth some cash. Every MMORPG Ive played has been great for the first month, then you realise your wasting all your free time ticking over numbers in someone else's database. At least things like CoD can be played casually.

The elevators in our buliding are being repaired (ancient building) and so only one works at a time... so you could waste an entire day just waiting for the damned thing. I decided to take the stairs today while having the dog on a leash and child on my back.... 9 flights of stairs later.... and I now have a new found appreciation of how out of shape I am! :p

I just heard myself on CBC radio. They were asking about green practices we have started in the past little while and they played my message where I'm talking about using bicarb and ACV for my hair. Toooo funny!

Oh snap xD Some days I can barely make the 0.7mile walk into uni, I'm not sure yet what it is that does it, its either me being hugely unfit oR something like asthma... bastard docs before never followed it up, but I have a nice doc now who will probably tell me nicely that I'm unfit xD

havnt done anything whatsoever today, just woke up 30 minutes ago it is currently 6:13 or so, dont plan on doing anything

referring to what you said dragon I came to realize Im the other way around I didnt care about how unfit I am until a doctor came up and told me, "Im surprized you can get to school without passing out" which considering I take public transportation to school which makes the actual walking less than half a km, and the doctor knew that I came to realize how fucked up I am.... little good it did me knowing and changing is diferent

today i clened my house, took the dog for a walk, made dinner in the crockpot, watched a hostel II and a kung fu movie, now i'm at work (1 hr 20 mins left!).

i feel you ladies on the food situation. i dunno ho things are done in the uk or canada, but here us po people get food stamps. i couldn't survive with out them. i get about $100usd a month and my man get's about $400 a month in stamps (it's really more of a debit card issued by the government). our kitchen is filled with canned food, just in case. even with a generous amount of stamps we always end up running out before our cards are refurbished.
