its not the 1 we hoped for..we looked at..hmm thosands possibly at least 600-800
obnly really seriusly conncidered about 12
we found 1 that was a mind boggling good deal, just down the road from here too but, he wanted 4000 (well 5000 but he took off a thousand as a rainbow discount)
but we couldnt scrape it together fast enough
its a beauty tho a almost new perfcet condition transit bus..huge..
but reality set inthat theres no way id scrape together enough this week so i took a peek on ebay found this 1, just out of service, in great shape with just 30 seconds left in the auction and the highest bid was almost exactly every cent i had..so...i bought it...
then instantly got nervouse wondering if i shoulda...but after talking to the seller felt much better it was the right bus for us..at least for the price

oh and it wont look like that for long we plan on soon adding a 2nd bus body to the roof for a 2nd floor and a deck on the back tubes along the roof to cary tipi poles..and odviosly a more dreadtastic paintjob

we'll be doin a ton of work on it so it wont be complete for a while but we'll still be takin it to the garthering..
probly with not much more then the deck on the back done at that point..

the bus progress might be slower then dread progress..well..the deck on back will be 1st since that will double as a ramp or something then probably the upstairs added since that will be the kids rooms
probly the electric next then kitchen/bathroom..but all depends on which parts get scavanged when i guess..
im hoping we can scavange at least 80% of the parts from junk rv's
wouldnt mind getting a 2nd or even 3rd solar panal either..

we definately got alotta ppl willing to help with welding carpentry wiring everything and we got a full rainbow kitchen getting kicked down

i figure the 1st floor we'll put the kitchen and everything along the left side leavijhng the right side clear so all the weights onthe left to counterballance the added weight ontop since roads are slightly right slanted
the upstairs wont be that heavy tho, justthe weight of thye bus body from windows uop (or maybe fenders, id like to keep thye hood and grill in tact for extra storage and the 2nd busses headlights for offroad lights) just that and 3 futonds and lightweight dividers between the rooms
(can ya tell been designing this in my head for months and months?)
the only detail i havent really looked into yet is figuring out some sorta affordable satalite net access

oh and still havent told chevy yet that we got a new home

ah and lastly, probly wont have any tipis for awhile..canvas is expensive! but by next year we should have a couple
was even thinking making tipis would be a good businees to do on the road

 

SE that bus is crazyville! When I;m older I want to buy a insane bus like that.

Today I am writing about my family history for school and lamenting the rain because I wanted to go work in the garden!

 

That bus is so awesome! Are you going to live in it or just use it to get to gatherings etc? I am eaten up with jealousy. When I was 13 or so my uncle bought a schoolbus and did it up but it was a short one- I thought it was the coolest thing in the world then and I still do!
After I get my degree maybe I'll buy a bus and travel around giving therapy to kids all over the US!
