naturally depressed for about........5 years straight without any change. of course life situations can make it better or worse. but, if you knew me in real life, you'd have no idea. i hide it very well. one of my favorite things to fanasize about is different ways tot ake my life. pretty morbid, huh?
    oh well, i'm still truckin.

Vig; I can totally relate. I have been fighting depression since I was a teen. Sometimes I feel almost normal, but since my close friend died a few years ago, I have been in a pretty dark place in my mind.
Things that help me control my depression: St. Johns Wort, cannabis and sunshine.

seriously, this worrys me a lot, i know exactly how it is i know many people who are like this, not quite as deep into depression but always hiding there emotions, im guilty of it from time to time but not nearly as much as i used to be. once i started to let it out life got a lot better

I'm occasionally stressed as hell, but I'm generally a carefree kind of person. I deal with a little depression now and then, but getting out of the house and experiencing new people/places/things always draws me out of it. To me the most depressing thing is routine. I hate it... hate for things to go on a long time with no change. Every now and then I have to switch things up a bit. Do something I wouldn't normally do or go somewhere I haven't been.

i have been thinking about st. john's wort. i guess if i have the money i'll try it. sunshine and exercise usually helps temporarily. i realize a lot of my unhappiness comes from the situation that i have put myself in. but, one of the hardest things to do is to let go of your comfort zone, even if your comfort zone is slowly killing you.

almost exactly what I was just saying... just change things up a bit, that should help. Meet some new people, do something you haven't done before. Anything to make life more interesting and worth living. Live is a rollercoaster and what fun is it if you're just sitting in the car and not moving.

    *big hugs*
A boy in my daughters class died from an accidental strangulation last year; the rope on his sled got wrapped around his neck while he was babysitting his 3 year old brother. It was pretty tough on the entire town, but the kids supported each other so well and they had counsellors at the school to help at least.

Thanks mama. It has to be the definition of the word "justice".

I mean... to struggle with a very special needs child and then for this to happen? Some people do not know how easy they have it. Shit....

Thanks Smelly... going to read through what I missed... sounds like vig needs some hugs today too.

    Edited to add...

Frig Vig. You need some lady friends who have some magical hugs! That might sound lame, but I bet if you could grow a unit away from the situation.. even just one or two people, you would be so much stronger or at least feel it. If you lived closer I'd take a road trip and drag your ass back with me. Btw, shrooms won't hlep where you are at right now. In fact, I would tell you to stay far away from them until you are "happy-ish" with your life. They can be very evil if you are not at peace with yourself and your situation.

    Hugs hun. :(

For what it's worth, my chiropractor is working with me to get me off antidepressents at the moment using only homeopathic and herbal meds. I have to break a glass and take an ampule each day (which is kinda neat). I've taken anti depressents on and off (three times for anxiety attacks and depression) the past five and a half years and if I can't stay balanced on this, then I will likely being on the drugs for the rest of my life. Ugh! It seems many of us come from a similar medical background

I am going to attempt to make sushi for my first time today. I really hope it turns out; I haven't had decent sushi for soooo long! This town really needs an oriental restaurant.

I went on a sushi kick for awhile after I was first introduced to it. But now the seaweed makes my feel sick afterwards and I used to have to eat so much of it to even start to feel full
