    I had homemade eggnog earlier, really good hard cider with dinner and am about to tuck into some organic eggnog and rum right now.

    Oh and I also had a small glass of whiskey earlier. My mom gave me a bottle of crown royal northern harvest rye whiskey for Christmas after she had me taste a glass from the bottle she got herself. She said "like it? Good because I got you one too." :)

    What does eggnog taste like? I never had it......

    The friend, who came here to dinner last night, brought me Captain Morgans dark rum....100 proof.....big expensive bottle....100 proof scares me. i will have to respect that.....Maybe I will have a shot of it with her in something like pepsi on new year's Eve here........I will not open it until then, if she comes over. That proof is scary....LOL

    I'm not great at describing flavours but it's is very creamy and has nutmeg in it normally.

    And it's pretty sweet.

    I've never made homemade egg nog, but I have found that with the store bought stuff you often need to spend upwards of $10 for a quart to get something that isn't sickly sweet and artificially thick.

    And that is exactly what I did! I have a bottle of really good organic eggnog. I payed through the nose for it, but it's my Christmas treat, so why not?
