I drink Cafe Batalla, organic beans from Veracruz in Mexico. This is the grinder they use when you walk in and buy their freshly roasted coffee beans. I pay about $7 US for a kilo. This is a package after bringing it home to brew a cup... You can buy it 'sin azucar' (without sugar) or with it. They grind chunks of piloncillo into the coffee right in front of your eyes
I hear that DHMO is pretty dangerous ... I've heard that excessive exposure to it can produce life-threatening effects, and that accidental inhalation can kill you! I even heard that they use DHMO in Nuclear reactors AND Baby Food! (I can't confirm that though, but I can't imagine it. Deadly stuff that DHMO.
Joking aside, drinking too much demineralised or distilled water in the hope of avoiding toxins, can be more dangerous than you ever realise. Being hungry for mineral salts, it can scavenge the sodium and potassium from your plasma, leaving the nodes that produce your base line cardiac arrhythmia unable to produce the nerve impulses. This can lead to flatline cardiac arrest. Intravenous fluids contain .05% of sodium as a chloride and in balance traces of potassium. Many consultants use Hartman's fluid that also contains other minerals. Over purified water also damages the digestive system and in a few cases has led to death. Even softened water has its problems, because the ion exchange process converts the calcium ions to soluble sodium salts. It is good for washing machines though, they hate calcium.
The whole thing is a bit of a joke. Especially for residents of Southern California. Back in 2004, a university student published a web page citing the dangers of a chemical compound he called Dihydrogen Monoxide, or DHMO, and listed all the dangers of its use. In the list was an announcement that it was used in the manufacture of styrofoam cups and how it could affect people who drank from them. Well the City Counselman of Aliso Viejo at the time, actually drafted legislation banned the use of styrofoam cups as well as banning all use within the city of DHMO. He made a very passionate case for his bill, and it almost passed. FOrtunately someone with a voice in city government saw it and basically said, "Ummm you're trying to ban water. A bunch of kids tried this 7 years ago as well." And the Counselman was nearly laughed out of office.
