Not a whole lot, playing with the baby and hanging out with Brad and my brother. Goin' out of town tomorrow and we're leaving Amber with my dad but we're not leaving until sometime in the afternoon tomorrow.
Not much until sunday when we hike up climb Mount Chocorua This weekend is going to hazy, hot, and humid, but my only concern are those late day thunderstorms we’re expecting. Hotwater
We went to my fiance's grandma's birthday party today, she turned 100. She's still cool as hell, sharp as a knife, she even has a boyfriend who she refers to as her toyboy. It's 8pm now, my plan for the rest of the evening is to watch some tv and go to bed as I gotta be up super early tomorrow.
keep drinking the kool aid mr kool aid drinker! but knwing you, you probably want some tabs of electric in there as well.
I’ll have to look through my AMC White Mountain Guide Book, but come on now HHB I know you’re much more interested in the Indian curse; Curse upon all white men, may the great spirit curse you when you speak upon the mountain top But of course I'm not white :cheers2: Hotwater
lol,,indian spirits dont bother me,,our place here is full of them.i feel they protect us. seriously.. we also have what nearest we can figure is a early settlers wife roaming around in a long white dress.. no the reason i asked is because i see they say its very crowded there this time of year and it has been my experience that crowded trails really slow a hiker down. i am assuming yall are going up and back in one day?
The area is remote enough so that shouldn't be a problem, but If you’re talking about Mount Monadnock in the S.W. with trails easy enough for a grandmother (with a walker to climb) it's like grand central station Hotwater
:icon_bs: total bullshit.... i went about three years or so back and there certainly was not a fee to get up on the summit... we would have left if that was the case....
i dunno i was just going by what i read after i googled it, " New Hampshire's Mount Chocorua draws a crowd. A big crowd. " http://www.sixstates.net/september2006/chocorua.htm "If you don't mind the crowds attracted to this popular peak, you'll be rewarded with a pleasant hike and great views." http://www.mountainsummits.com/mountains/newhampshire/chocorua.htm it seems as i said that it depends on what trail you take as to how crowded it is,however it seems the summit is always crowded.. "Let me say right here that most of these trails see extremely heavy use. On a summer weekend it's not at all uncommon to go up to the summit and see one to two hundred people milling around up there." http://home.comcast.net/~gtardiff/choctrip.html so if i were you i might stop thinking of being in the wilderness all alone and start thinking of crowd control..lol btw,,thats the tip of the iceberg on crowd comments about that mountain..
Clearly not everyone is going to enjoy the experience, and I'm sure there are nightmare stories no matter where you go, but for overcrowding, I'd suspect the guy that got hit with some spittle would think even one more hiker was too much Hotwater
you have to pay to summit mount monadnock now? oh, and i'll probably start drinking soon (YEA!!! ) then pass out drunk, wake up in the morning and go to the beach
