Relaxing after driving back from the Pittsburgh area.

Had to put an alternator belt on my father's GMC motor home this morning for him before I left.
    upload_2018-6-29_19-18-52.jpeg
What a pain in the a---. Had to remove two belts to get to put the third on.
A royal pain in the neck, literally.
It wouldn't run as the battery died because the alternator wasn't spinning,. and all he wanted to do was move it about ten feet.

We are in for a week in the 90's with tomorrow being the hottest day close to 100 degrees....ugh......summer is here.
I may have to exercise alone much of the time...as it is too dangerous for the pugs in this....which stinks in a way...as if they do not get lots of exercise, they are too hyper at night and do not settle down as easily.

Studying. Cleaned the house this morning, going to do yardwork later

I've decided when I go on a short vacation in August I am abdicating all my adult responsibilities. I need a break from being responsible for other people. My kid can pour milk and make his own sandwiches, he'll be fine.

I'm only joking. Half joking. I'm not joking.

    Funny story...

I had the brilliant idea of finding white duct tape to tape over the wall paper upstairs where Grayson cat keeps scratching off the wall paper......The wall paper is kind of white, beige....with little pink flowers everywhere...but I could not stand looking at different colored poster boards up there anymore....so voila,...found white duct tape!

Last night I was in the hall upstairs carefully duct taping all of the places he was using as a scratching board, and proud of myself for such a wonderful idea....as it was working nicely.....and until we get new wall paper someday or something...i was happy with it.

Grayson was in one of the rooms on a bed watching me from his distance the entire time.

After I was finished I looked at him and just thought....and not angrily, because I was not angry anymore but happy, I found a solution for now...

"Seriously, Grayson,.......look what you did. Are you happy about that...?"

and right after I thought that in my head...he jumped off the bed like crazy and ran under the bed and hid for a long time.....and I did not see him again until just a little while ago. LOL

Talk about mental telepathy. he has it.....all animals do in my experience.

You are right, TY....There is a huge oak tree right outside this window here that I look at much of the time while sitting here on this computer and I silently talk to it. all of the time.
The oak tree is at least 150 years old...or more...maybe 200 years old. It is massive.

Yes, out there is my church also. :)

and I am happy that I had another brilliant idea yesterday.........Other than the usual little gifts for people at the neighbor's on Wednesday...early birthday gifts for Emmy Lou , the little girl who lives there, also. She is the daughter of the son who lives there , who is the son of the man of the house there..
her birthday is in September and she will be 5...and I always shower her with gifts. I love that little girl......I had two summer dresses to give her in her birthday bags already........a pink girly cotton summer dress with a big white tie that ties into a bow in the back and a blue and white sun dress with light houses all over it. Both dress are beautiful...the lighthouse dress is an OOAK...handmade and none other like it....but I thought...why wait until September to give her these two dresses? Give them to her on July 4th so she can wear them in the heat this summer...plus I am bringing Barbies and things for them to play with.....There will be two other children there, too...the women of the house has a daughter that comes with her husband and they have two children...an 8 year old girl and a ten year old boy. I love these children, also.
My neighbors are both on their second marriages with each other for many years now. they are great people..

Its always a highlight for me to spend time with all 3 children every July 4th and Christmas.

Anyway, it was driving me crazy...what to bring there as my contribution for food...as they have everything under the sun to eat there....and then some....lol ...and the food keeps coming all day long.......They barbecue outside and it is inside and outside...and the wife is running around like crazy with so many side dishes.....so what should I bring to add anything?

VOILA...my brilliant idea...i am making a huge fresh fruit salad with berries, strawberries, peaches, pineapple.....and so many other fruits......! Perfect for a hot summer day...and they never have fruit salad...only watermelon....so that is my other brilliant idea....:)

Yeah, me, too. YFM. I love it best when it is clean here.......but with 4 dogs, 3 cats....it does not last too long ever. can break my back for days and get this place spotless, and two days later with all of the fur balls and everything else.....it looks like i did nothing, so i can't be too anal about it...or that is all i would ever be doing.........
and as my mom so aptly said........and i quote as she was the queen of sarcasm and could beat anyone and I mean anyone...."Can't f the house with a feather duster all of the time...!" LOL
