The Lone Star Ranger by Zane Grey (published 1915)

Not to be confused with the classic The Lone Ranger of radio and TV fame. Much better written than you'd expect of a classic western ...(except the few female characters, which are pretty shallow...and the love interest's are even more so).

I started getting into these old books as I found myself driving a lot lately. Some days, I just wasn't in the mood for tunes/radio. Librivox offers a free app that plays Audio books from the public domain (i.e. free).

thank you, i see that that is available on audiobook as well, which is often a deciding factor for me, as i spend a lot of the day walking about with nothing to listen to, but not as much spare time as i'd like to sit and read.

the bloke who reccomended brandon sanderson to me also reccomended a fantasy writer whose name escapes me its was eric...something, something sort of nordic sounding, i seem to remember, i don't suppose you would know who that was?

Book I'm reading now: Essence (The Witches Prophecy)

Daniel is in love with Sara, and she loves him too. The problem? Sara is lying in a hospital bed with a death sentence that's slowly counting down the days. Daniel knows every minute with Sara is precious, but he also wants Sara to retain the person she used to be before she was sick. Daniel will do anything he has to savor those moments. Daniel will even read to Sara her favorite subject of vampires. He isn't even sure where the journal came from. One thing he knows is that once he begins reading the story to Sara both of them become captivated to the point that putting the journal down before finishing is simply not going to happen.

    The Host by Stephenie Meyer

This is the same author that wrote that (horrible) Twilight series. This book is considered science fiction and I have quite enjoyed it. You would never know the same author wrote this book as well as the T series.

When Nietzsche Wept by some Jewish author.

It's interesting if you're into Nietzsche. Especially because you get the rare opportunity to witness Nietzsche's philosophy in context of the human demeanour. The book, writing and authour however seem incredibly pretentious and inflated.
