im just getting finished with "The Chris Farley Show" written technically by all of the closest people (in excerpts) to him including his family, friends, and comedians he worked alongside with during his greatest and most vulnerable times. Some of these people are David Spade, Adam Sandler, Alec Baldwin, Chris Rock. "While fans knew Chris as the sweaty, swaggering Motivational Speaker and the hyperkenetic Chippendales stripper, his family and friends knew him as a deeply spiritual and earnest kid who never stopped trying to make people laugh. This oral biography includes exclusive interviews with those who knew him best.....The result is a portrait, hilarious and heartbreaking, of a young man whose battle with addiction began long before he became famous. This is a book about the intersections of comedy, celebrity, performance, and family---with a deeply moving message about the demons that face even the most gifted among us."
Life of Pi by Yann Martel published in 2001. The protagonist, Piscine Molitor "Pi" Patel, an Indian boy from Pondicherry, explores issues of spirituality and practicality from an early age. He survives 227 days after a shipwreck, while stranded on a boat in the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal tiger. Only on the first few pages but it's a very good read :2thumbsup:
Seems to be one of those books that everyone has read, no one has finished. Don't be one of those fools; it was an amazing book.
Right now im reading the stephanie plum series by janet evanovich. Im almost done with that book then im going to start reading the true blood series.
I'm reading "Psychology of Want" by Daryl Banner for the second time ....... Got it on Amazon.com. A friend told me about it. He bought it for his Kindle, but it's also available in paperback. It's a really dramatic and sometimes inappropriately HILARIOUS story about a gay college kid who's addicted to masturbating. Even though he's clearly messed up in the head, his sarcasm makes the book a total fun read. You can check out the first chapter or so on Amazon's Look-Inside thingy. I need someone to talk to about this book!!! It's even better the second time around. Let me know if any of you check it out.... hit me up
Grimm's Fairy Tales, in English. Read them when I was around 6, in Romanian, then I was just learning to read. I'm having quite a blast noticing how some things were translated differently in English and Romanian from the original German.
