That is a bizarre and amazing book. Many years ago I read it, and even re-read it once (something I relatively never do). Makes one re-think life and quality of life. As my half-deaf, illiterate and profound neighbor says..."The mind is a strange thing."
"A People's History of The United States" by Howard Zinn "The Fort" by Bernard Cornwell (a fantastic historical fiction writer!) And sorta reading (meaning to pick it up again) "Waiting For The Barbarians" by J. M. Coetzee. Just finished "The Rum Diary's" by Hunter S. Thompson & "Brutal, My Life in Whitey Bulger's Irish Mob" by Kevin Weeks. Both very different, but great! "Brutal" is great for anyone interesting in Whitey or the mob....it's also quite, brutal.
Right now I'm on Stieg Larsson's "The Girl Who Played With Fire". I really like it, but I'm having real trouble getting through it. I think I have too many other distractions. I'll need to read something else before I move on to "... Kicked the Hornet's Nest".
Im reading my german language book. I am trying to learn german again, i used to know a bit but now know next to nothing.
Hello, on the other hand, the terms gift and Gift for instance have a different meaning. Anyways, there are a lot of words with the same meaning in both languages. Rucksack, knappsack, kindergarten, glockenspiel and others come to mind. Regards Gyro
The Ruling Sea by Robert V.S. Redick. 2nd in a series. One of the best fantasy series I have started in a long time. A very unique series.
