What are the main lessons that you have learned in your life?

as a fellow adult, i feel that adulthood is overrated.

ugh, i love forum drama as much as the next guy, but isn't that one of those million page threads? i'd have to use some vacation time from work to get through all that.

Ah if its in there on the last few pages I missed it. But I've been in there earlier (posting as well) and noticed that several people really can't handle that other people are ok with flag burning. They get kind of retarded and antisocial. It's a real touchy subject for some.

What you know/believe in intellectually is not necessarily the same as what you know/believe in on a more visceral level, bridging this gap is crucial for optimal self-development.

It's never, ever, ever going to be quite enough.........& that's totally ok!!!

 

starting to remember what i hated most about school

 

getting up so damn early.

expectation and frustration are joined at the hip.

do unto others as THEY would have you do unto them (they may have no use in hell for what you might think is doing them a favor)
unless of course they commit atrocities or harassment (then their karma is THEIR problem and need not concern you)

whatever kind of world you create, you still have to live in. (consideration isn't just because it sounds cool, its because tyranny is what happens without it.)

oh and, whatever anyone tells you to pretend, anything might exist, but owes nothing to it.

don't let them rob your own imagination. its what makes life worth living.

you can believe anything you want, but doing so doesn't take the place of logic, consideration and honesty. AND imagination.

strangeness is sacred, but you don't have to take my word for anything.
its between you and the rest of the universe.

has nothing really to do with what i want or think.

but i can guarantee, what is real is less narrow, then what anyone tries to tell you.

unpleasant things happen, but they don't have to surprise you,
if you observe without pre-suposition.

and you're more likely to recognize and enjoy what is harmless, without it too.

i can't tell you anything about gods, except i wouldn't expect goodness from anything wishing to be feared. but its only humans that would insist on expecting them to.

 

I dont think Jesus was talking about buttsex though. So there is at least one subclause

 

Lesson I learned this weekend:

Everyone loves a little drama. Even if they pretend that they don't.

 

I really don't like drama but I think if you aspire to be a functioning member of society, various social pressures funnel you into it one way or another.

I don't think it's much different than being a kid except I can do what I want
