What are the distractions that make you unproductive?

complex machines are basically what observably distinguishes humans from other species.
these in turn exist only because of our one difference, which is the degree we feel compelled to be creative.
and i don't see these as making us better, nor as making us another different kind of thing.

i do find machines and non-humans more interesting then humans
and humans mostly a distraction from enjoying them.

as for productivity, i really don't see quantitative productivity as any kind of holy grail.

i'm more concerned with the kind of world we all together create
that each of us must then individually experience living in.

the rise and fall of nations means less to me, then what individual persons, all individual persons, must experience living in them.

Quietness. I have to have background noise of some sort whenever I'm doing something. For some reason that keeps me on task. If its quiet I keep finding butterflies to chase.
