i have always walked around barefoot, still do.
I always took my shoes off when i was little, i hated shoes.
I love it, it makes me feel at one with nature.
I can still remember back when i was really little and I would walk around barefoot and my neighbors friend almost had a heartattack.
She was freaking out and yelling "Where on earth are your shoes young lady?"

    I love being barefoot......

I was almost 29 when I started going barefoot. My parents always wore shoes, even indoors; I did usually take my shoes off indoors and even played barefoot in the yard in summer, but as soon as I had to go anywhere I always wore shoes... it wasn't anything my parents yelled about but I knew NO ONE who ever went barefoot out in the street or had even seen a single glimpse of anyone barefoot out and about. It's very uncommon here, even in these past ten years when I often look down I've only spontaneously seen two or three people barefoot in public. You go outside, you wear clothes and shoes, I never gave it any thought or was particularly bothered by it.

And even though I never hated shoes, I even liked several pairs I had, when I found a barefooters group on Usenet and read about people going barefoot everywhere, I knew IMMEDIATELY I wanted to do that too. It wasn't an anti-shoe reaction, it was a pro-barefoot reaction. Unfortunately that was right at the start of a very cold winter so I didn't start immediately but I kept reading the group for those winter months and as soon as the weather turned a bit warmer in late Febr/early March I started going barefoot, and have only worn shoes a handful of times since, mainly in the first few winters when it was really cold and a couple social functions in the first years -I haven't done either for the past several years.

I actually was born barefoot <hehehe>.

Seriously I went about barefoot ever since birth, and as a toddler would take off my shoes and socks. My mom and dad couldn;t keep shoes on me and finally just gave up.
