    Oh man! That sucks!

Fleassy and I *might* make it out to the Oregon Country Fair...bit iffy though, with the baby and her hopping between Canada and the US...

But if we do decide to grace the fair with our presence, wanna meet up? :D

sure but I was considering the National in COlorado or the gathering of the tribes in The Ozarks as well, since I will be driving west from Virginia anyway

Those two parks in southern Oregon are going to be about as good as we can get as far as accessiblilty to 1-5 and being reachable from California and upper Washington/Canada.

Information on Valley of the Rogues:
I-5, 12 miles East of Grants Pass (and 17 miles West of Medford) on the Rogue River; (541) 582-3128
    98 full hook-up, 48 electrical, 21 tent; maximum site, 75 feet; 23 pull-through sites; 6 yurts; group tent (3 areas)
special features: all sites upgraded to 50 amps; meeting hall; 1 and 3/4 mile interpretive trail; group picnic; reservations, program area, wildlife viewing area, fishing sites
FEATURES: tents, yurts, reservable, year-round camping, hot showers, dump sites, restrooms, picnicking, fishing, boat ramps, hiking, interpretive trails
    From Portland, Oregon: 265 miles

    Information on Joseph H. Stewart:
OR 62, 35 miles NE of Medford and 36 miles SW of south entrance to Crater Lake National Park; overlooks Lost Creek Reservoir; (541) 560-3334
151 electrical, 50 tent; maximum site 80 feet; group tents (2 areas)
Special Features: boat ramp with access for fishing, waterskiing and other water sports; marina and store; 11 and 1/2 miles of paved hiking trails and bike paths; group picnic reservations
FEATURES:tent, hot showers, dump sites, restrooms, picnicking, fishing, boat ramps, swimming, hiking, bike trails
    From Portland, Oregon: 271 miles

Basically, from what I can see, the Valley park is bigger and closer to I-5.

But the Stewart Park has more for families to do, mainly swimming. The other park doesn't have that. Plus, it's smaller, so there's less of a chance of disturbing/being disturbed by others. It's also more spaced out, if I have the pictures straight.

    And cape-lookout state park: http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_186.php

Most people seem to like Cape Lookout....Need more input to make it official though...

Cape Lookout sounds awesome to me. This is getting exciting...I REALLY hope I can make it!

Just out of curiousity, can we have a quick show of hands for who's going to be able to make it (or who's going to try to make it)?

it's a 600 mile drive for me.. but i'm saving money already and my kids are excited to go.

we're gonna try our hardest to be there.. BUT if things go bad between now and then.. we're gonna just go to the earthdance festival in septmber

if anyone is down my way and wants to ride with us or vice verse have us ride with them.. save on some gas lemme know.. might make it easier on all of us to ride-share

We are intending to go. But if someone doesn't reserve something soon, I'm not sure we will get a campground. I reserve my Memorial day campsites 9 months in advance. Time is ticking away. Maybe Steffan will come up with something good for us [IMG].

I say we reserve something ASAP, if we still can....because YIKES...it's not even three months away anymore!

there are more campsites than people around here, so no worries. heck we didntt even make reservations for the 4th last year
a freind of mines family has land with a guest house im trieing to get, he sounded like it was a real posibility, it all comes down to what his mom says.
if not though the biggest problem is finding a place right off the interestate, if people wouldnt mind going an hour or so out of the way theres a privete campground that would cost about the same for ourr little group
