there always is, but it ranges from being able to order what you want from awesome mexican cooks in a trailer to on one of those huge calls all kinds of people were picking through these giant bins of bagels

and I noticed that there was no soap in the bathrooms, and some people there were homeless seeming

There can be a lot of waiting around and being really bored on sets

 

well thank goodness this is at Wake Forest University....so its a good place.

if you work 8 hours, its minimum wage. But you usually would work 10 -12 hours and get overtime. You also get money the more outfit changes you had, if you get wet etc. but the most you would ever get was about 130 dollars maybe

Once I made 1200 for one day when the director had me and two other guys yell something, and one of the other guys showed it to the screen actors guild. It was on some show called "The Beast" that got canceled right away

I never wanted to be an actor though :biggrin:

 

minimum wage for doing pretty much nothing sounds good to me. can i bring an mp3 player to listen to or something? i'm always seeing those bullshit ads searching fro movie extras when i'm looking for jobs, maybe i'll respond to one some day.

 

You can definitely bring an mp3 player, book, food etc. Lots of times you sit around for say 6 or 7 hours before doing anything at all

I met a lot of friends out there being an extra

and came across some of the most irritating people in my life too

 

Looks like a pretty terrible movie to me.

Soon your not going to have your looks going for you anymore and all you'll have to speak for you is your work.

My advise is to hold out for a better script.

Being on set is a lot of fun. And the snacks and everything are great. I was an extra in Friday Night Lights, which was another hackneyed sports movie... which I refused to watch. :biggrin:

I bet the kids'll have a blast.

 

Yeah they will. They will enjoy going to school on Monday to say that they were in a movie. LOL...even if you cannot even see them....they'll be excited about it.

I've never seen Friday Night Lights. I don't really do sports movies. Though there have been a couple inspirational ones....but I even forget their names, LOL!

 

Rocky is a great movie,

That's it. Only good sports movie.

But I'm a film snob.

 

What about raging bull? If you can call it a sports movie.

 

You know what, I hadn't even thought of Raging Bull when I typed that.

Two good sports movies. And that's it.

 

I know two people who were in Zack and Miri make a porno. They weren't extras they had a couple lines and were in two scenes. They're really nice guys, too.
