i do generally welcome the end of summer, but i also prefer the color scheme of spring to that of fall, summer or winter. likewise the seasonal climate.

I was born in January!

I love October too, all kinds of cool things going on during this month! There's plenty of freshly harvested fruits and veggies for dirt cheap at the farmer's market, the weather is perfect, trees become colorful, Halloween is coming, it's time for Halloween-related stuff (baking, movies, TV specials and costume making), plus it's my mom's and my son's birthdays too (on the same day).

 

i love a good feast, but i know too much about the REAL history of that day, ever to feel entirely good about it.

Mega autumn leaves that have fallen so far here this October. We wait until the trees are mostly bare, before we get the leaves all raked and dealt with. It is mega work here that hired help comes in.....The first year, they dumped leaves in the stream here and blocked water passage. I was so upset. Idiots...I tell you...one must be on top of everything these days.....

Been watching scary movies with a friend. Today's was The Changeling (not the newer one with Angelina, but the one from 1980 with George C. Scott) and Audrey Rose from 1977. Good old spooky movies.
