welcome new mod & can use some help improving things round here

the reason I'm wandering is because we aren't suppose to post about non-dread things I think all of us have though. But if everything is combined we will have nothing to post but non-dread related.

I might be wrong. I'm so confused

 

I think it's maybe just for common topics that come up again and again, like there are lots of "how do I use Dr. Bronner's" type threads. It would be useful to have something linking common threads...people might be less likely to miss useful info.
Like the current sticky threads in principle. You know?

I agree about the search funtion being poorly placed.

?? Just look down the current first page. There are all-sorts of random threads which are just one-off discussions, that wouldn't all be filed away into their own categories.

I don't think dready bedrooms is the type of common essential dread-related topic that people come to this forum looking for help and advice with, do you?

What I meant was, it's not the type of thing the Sticky function is for. I like the thread too. You just seemed unaware of what Sticky is for...

Well I suppose when stuff starts getting deleted then the "welcome to hip forums 400+ free speech forums" is no longer valid.

 

Surely you can differentiate between not seeing eye-to-eye with someone, and plain abuse?

perhaps all we really need is just a "everything you need to know about dreadlocks" thread and different people can explain in detail the merthods and maintanances they use and answer questions all in 1 place...with just a touch of organization (1st post have links to sections of the thread.. like the 1st 10 postsbe about methodfs next 10 maintanance next 10 products tiill we cover all the issues then last linkwould be to the beginning of the question answer discussion part

andr sunflower..theres alot to fall outside the condenced catagories like dready updates.. comments u received that day..experiences..history and philosophy of dreads ..plenty of thiongs but do we need 20000 threads like should i take out my elastics or leave them in for 3 years

i wholeheartedly agree that this forum needs more moderation and organization (i mostly post on a much more smoothly run forum) but think about it: if these offensive discussions are over and done with, why delete posts that people have made. its so frustrating.

but i suppose hipforums claim to free speech has long since been discredited

also, i wouldnt mind knowing who exactly (apart from pretty much every post by soaring eagle to hhb and that one post of hhbs to se) has been committing personal attacks?
