It is the introduction drug in the sense that it is a good introduction to the psychedelic mindset; weed being very mild and available But gateway; no Chances are, if you want to try weed, you want to try at least a few other drugs Thinking that weed is a gateway drug is like saying an apple is a gateway fruit to other fruits That is a weak excuse in my book, people are capable of their own choices Weed isn't addictive, but our society today will try to find every scratch of evidence, every hint or loophole to prove something that doesn't matter Go ahead and find any pattern you can of marijuana use attributed to anyother negative aspect... fuck
the only way a gateway theory can be backed up is if the number of people who use the supposed gateway drug (about 1/3 of the population of America) should equal or be close to the number of people who use hard drugs like coke/heroine/meth, which the number isnt even close. that right there destroys the gateway theory. plus there is just no science behind it. THC does not make a person want heroine.
friends and d.a.r.e. were my gateway drug... haha, although it was my choice trying things, they didn't force anything on me, i started with cigarettes... then tried alcohol since its so mainstream and everyone drinks... hows a kid not going to want to try drinking when its all around them... like commercials for example. anyway, from there i went on to smoke mary. i dont like drinking much though... if its happening i only drink to ride the buzz i never get wasted... i think its stupid.
if anything I would say ecstasy is the introduction drug when people start getting into popping pills regularly they drift towards speed, codeine, xanax, coke, etc
