    First off, the BBC has been censored ever since it tried to investigate and cover a lot of B.S. happening with Blair's gov't. since the Iraq war.

    Remember when there was basically a takeover of the BBC by the gov't? They replaced the executives with their own people.

    Right then I noticed the Bush bashing came to a complete halt, and the coverage of the Iraq war suddenly took on a "oh, isn't it nice we're helping the Iraqi's" tone that they never had before.

    So all this bias bullshit is dated and full of shit itself. The BBC might as well be run by Rupert Murdock anymore. In fact, I believe he had something to do with the changes that went down because the BBC was at odds with the propaganda that Murdocks media outlets were spewing at the time.

    Now we're down to the Guardian as the last remaining voice of the left (besides the Socialist & other small papers).

    I really felt the BBC was on to something and would soon bring down Blair's gov't, but he sure nipped that in the bud, and now you Brits are stuck with Karl Rove's talking points when it comes to America and the Middle East.

    I'm sure there are still a lot of liberals left on the staff, but the editors are obviously making mince meat of their reports anymore, as this thread has shown.

    How sad... I really loved the BBC.

    And if you think THAT shit is sad, you should see what BBC America broadcasts in the states! Nothing but old Benny Hill and Whose line is it? reruns ad infinitum! I'm gonna cancel that channel from my cable subscription! Like the BBC has nothing else to show Americans? Is that the peak of British culture? Benny Hill?

    Well all we get off ABC is old "home improvements" reruns and some comedy programs that dont even entertain kids. The intellectual content of 99.999 % of US channels here and the programs imported in are ludicrously childish even when aimed at adults. I think the reason they keep pumpin the USA full of Benny Hill is because they honestly dont think the intellectual level and global-awareness of the average US citizen is high enough to take anything more stimulating. You should listen to "the world service" by the BBC on the radio - oh and FYI it is just the USA where that happens - you should see what the push out to Eastern Europe and the Africans

    My GF used to work as a reporter for the BBC (not on camera) and she thinks its a load of shit that the BBC are called Left Wing - Anyone who shows the slightest leaning toward the left wing is almost pitied and shamed toward at least the centre if not the right wing
    They actually ran a story in this country that said the USA ambassador and Bush were pissed off that bush was attacked for being a dimwit - they complained to the government that parodies of Bush were not acceptable. Thats why theres no Bush Bashing - before that the true condition of the presidents mental retardation was known
