Meh I got no issue with the big ape. He intrigues me. I half suspect he is a university professor sent here to challenge us to think. That being said I still beleive the total opposite of what he says. At least most of the time.

In reference to animals, they're both the same thing, as in "to take apart or dismantle". Not the same with respect to firearms, of course. Only a complete moron would deliberately try to dismantle a firearm with a pocket knife. I've known quite a few of those over the years. They are usually of the same ilk who try to "clean" a gun without checking it first, resulting in unwanted holes in mysterious places.

Hmm...okay. I've never heard the term "field strip" in reference to dressing out an animal. Oh, well...learning something new!

Yeah, I never could understand how anyone can attempt to clean a firearm without having ensured it was unloaded. Truthfully...I don't feel that I believe all of the reports of people discharging their weapon while "cleaning it". I suspect, that in many of these cases, the person was doing something else very stupid...twirling the gun, thought they were "dry-firing" the gun, or in some cases...may have actually intentionally discharged the gun (while drunk, or whatever)...but when having to explain their actions to law enforcement later, they have decided that "I was cleaning it and it just went off" is the least-damning explanation.

    Bullseye.
I actually watched this happen with a guy right in front of me. Put a hole in my trailer, which brought my nagging wife out in full bitch mode. Saw the holes in a relative's house (twice) where he said he was "just cleaning his gun" to which I replied "BS". Some of these events caused great panic, followed by great hilarity:
A police firearms instructor shows his new gun to his attorney, who takes it in hand and promptly puts a round through the palm of said instructor. The attorney sees visions of legal ramifications and lawsuits, while the instructor spent the rest of his career being known as "Barney".

I'm not going to identify any of the players in these tales, as they're all still (incredibly) alive.

I somehow think that if you had intervened, it would have been to calm the situation down, rather than escalate it and you would probably have succeeded without anyone getting hurt.

  6. @scratcho sounds like my dad who is still in his mid 70's. I'm surprised that none of the u/20's have broken out the "ok boomer" term.
It just tells us that the young are focusing on the disrespectful side of life when they all need to listen.
Thinking about this now scratcho has a big point there in his thread.
Bullying someone because of race is fucking disgusting.
It happens a lot in here by people who should really know better.
You saw the video of that kid being bullied due to his disability. That is not on.
How would you feel if you were being bullied due to your national origin?
    It's not on either.
Imagine if your favourite sportsperson was harassed due to a disability, race or appearance issue. Some people have a lot of cultural reasons for the things they do.
It makes me wonder how many people on here would be prepared to say what they are saying to their favourite sportsperson's face?
It also makes me wonder if the same people would be known to open their pie holes if a sudanese person walked up to them asking for directions with little to no english.
About time people in here lifted their games and pulled their heads in.
Learn what respect is and push that through your family.

  8. It's relevant because people get bullied because of everything. Age, sexuality, race, disability, etc.
This forum is diversity driven. Everyone from all walks of life can post on here. Even the fuckwits who are known to troll on here can post here.
It's a matter of thinking before you open your mouth to say something.
Remember those reviews we all did for this forum and we read some nasty ones from some people who no longer post on here. Some of the negative commentary is still happening by those that troll on here.
Those that love the forum contribute more than those that just waste their time following others who may of ignored them around all day leaving nasty comments behind them.
That is known as cyber bullying. A form of bullying that is done online by cyber trolls. It's still hurtful to read. Kids get this done at school by other kids. It's the reason why mobile phones are banned at school.

  9. Is he making you learn things?
My course coordinator teaches photography class. He is from an asian background.
He's talented, awesome and he is really knowledgable and respectful.
He is not an arsehole who spends most of their time bullying others. He makes you think about your actions.

  11. Sports fans who are that passionate about their favourite sports teams will take banter a little more seriously.
An example here is one where your favourite sports team has lost to another sports team. All hell breaks loose. Brawls happen, silly things happen all because you have bitten off more than you can chew at somebody because their team lost to your team.
Here in australia we have people who go as far as microwaving their memberships all because their team lost. Richmond won the afl grand final here last year. Some of their fans actually go and do silly things like microwaving their memberships when a loss happens.
Funny but it's something you don't ever bully somebody about.
I've seen serious things get out of hand in sport.
Ben stokes getting into trouble for coward punching somebody who was bullying him and stalking him.
These days the guy is a legend due to taking some great wickets and taking some awesome catches.

K...no one picked on anyone about age till you. Like why go there?

  13. Because people get bullied about their age.
Live a bit more learn a bit more.
I was brought up by three foster care families. Respect was driven into me by the second family i was put into.
They were from the UK. A church minister and his wife. if i never respected people my arse would cop the wooden spoon.

Sounds like you have a serious case of gratitude. A wonderful thing indeed, and woefully absent much of the time these days.
I wonder where those ministers got the idea to disipline you, and what modern society could learn from this....

  15. @everything bagel you brought up that your teacher is a big ape. That is racist because the bloke can't help being born with dark coloured skin. Look at your own skin colour and ask yourself do you want people racially abusing you or your loved ones.
In those reviews we all learned your real name that we will not use in here.
Your comments reflect your family. If they aren't racist bigots like what you are then look out some serious respecting needs to happen.

  17. It's a big UK custom that you are to show and be as respectful as you can be when you are around others.
These days respect is shown the door and it's led by the u/20's who think it's funny to pick on people because they are different.
