Abbie Hoffman, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson-- three peas in a pod: con- men at heart. Oh, yeah, let's throw Jerry Rubin in there, too. Of course, he saw the light late in life and became a neo-conservative. In twenty years, they'll all be trivia questions.
bingo: I got that feeling too on his last brush with talking in public... but Leary was on an ego trip while saying groupmind, too... Maybe it was Regan....
He's quite right. They not only own everything, but they also control the language used to communicate (eg, look at what they've made of the term 'liberal'). There is no real way to resist the current culture; you can only cope with it.
Well anything is possible but things are not looking up. The media today is owned by six corporations, and americans are too busy shoving fast food into their face and consuming to care about whats really important or whats really going on in the slighest. You get used to the hopelessness of the world eventually, and work with what ya got, and you do what you can here and there to fix what feels like needs fixing. But if you look through history, the powerful have always remained powerful, because their willing to use their power, via violence. Look at every revolutionary who was killed..Ghandi, John Lennon, JFK, Che Guevera, Malcom X, MLK, etc... There is even a lot of reasonable speculation Abbie Hoffman was murdered too.
I beg your pardon, Templedragon: Explain differently-- we would all love to hear why they aren't con-men. For starters, name the church where the Reverend Jackson preaches every Sunday; name the last wedding or funeral he officiated at.Same goes for Sharpton-- I believe he used to call himself a preacher before the media ran him up a tree of lies. In short-- prove I'm wrong.
