My brain is smart but my mouth is stupid. Unfortunately the two haven't found a way to work in harmony yet.

    War

    War! - huh- yeah-
    What is it good for?
    Absolutely nothing
    Uh-huh

    War! – huh – yeah-
    What is it good for?
    Absolutely nothing
    Say it again y’all
War! – huh – good God
    What is it good for?
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me…
    Ohhh… War! I despise
    Because it means destruction’
    Of innocent lives
    War means tears
    to thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
    and lose their lives
    I said - War! Huh – Good God y’all
    What is it good for?
    Absolutely nothing
    Say it again
    War! Whoa, Lord
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me…
War! It ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War! Friend only to the undertaker
War! It’s an enemy to all mankind
The thought of war blows my mind
War has caused unrest in the younger generation
    Induction then destruction-
    Who wants to die?
    Ohhh… War – Good God Y’all
    What is it good for?
    Absolutely nothing
Say it, Say it, Say it
    War! Uh-huh – Yeah - Huh!
    What is it good for?
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me…
War! It ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War! It’s got one friend, that’s the undertaker
War has shattered many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled bitter and mean
Life is much to precious to spend fighting wars these days
War can’t give life, it can only take it away
War! Huh – Good God y’all
    What is it good for?
    Absolutely nothing
    Say it again
    War! Whoa, Lord
    What is it good for
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me…
War! It ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War! Friend only to the undertaker
    Peace Love and Understanding;
tell me, is there no place for them today?
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there’s got to be a better way
War! Huh – Good God y’all
    What is it good for?
    You tell me
Say it, Say it, Say it
War! Huh – Good God y’all
    What is it good for?
    Stand up and shout it.
    Nothing!

Sorry Odon, but it's the truth..........

    Peace

Got any suggestions that relate to what I was looking for?

So far it has been a difficult challenge to find poems like what I am looking for.
Plenty of contemporary poems floating around.
All deep and meaningful from the perspectives of soldiers critics family members of soldiers- the whole nine yards.

    The list is almost endless.

Can I find anything like I want? Can I f.... :leaving:

Should we ask why you want to find pro-war poetry or have you just finally gone totally bonkers?

If that's what you want to call it. Fine.
It might get the ball rolling a little bit more.
If you know of any contemporary works, please post some.
All I have said is I didn't want any anti-war ones, ones banging on about the futility of war, and none that were too gun ho.
Oh, and none written by Republicans or you end up with poems like I posted earlier.

    Just because.

Edit: Ok. I've not read many of the kind I was looking for and I'd like to.
Just to get a feel of the opposite emotions than the normal anti-war poems.

Yes all that bloody banging on about how it's not very nice when thousands or millions of people get killed. Blah blah bloody whining blah: so bloody what? Why can't they just look on the bright side?

Matthew, have you ever suffered a blow to the head?

I thought Platoon was a bore-a-fuck. So was Hamburger Hill.

Just a bunch of guys rolling around a forest in the dark getting their limbs blown off.

How can you be pro-war. Anyone who is pro-war is douche bag.

Oh yeah yeah the poor Afghanis.

You want a war, why don't you go and fight in it? See how pro-war you are then.
