My wife and I want to get one by April when the baby is due. Nothing older than a late 90's model. Too bad that VW stopped making vans in the past two years here in the USA. Yes, I love the older ones. My first vehicle was a 1972 VW van. We just want something that will be running more so than sitting on our driveway............... ~namaste~
vw buses rock. but when getting one you have to think about a few things the amount of rust...how many miles the engine and trans. have....and u gotta learn how to drive manual. because the automatic ones suck for driving when i got mine i made sure there was no rust and it had a rebuilt trans. and engine also alot of the buses have broken heat and no a/c and no radio
also remember that vw engines were designed for 25000 miles. a engine with 40000 since rebuild is about to need to be rebuilt again.
I want a 1967 split window VW Bus! I have so many plans for it, it's just a matter of actually saving enough money to get one. check out this site... www.thesamba.com
What's the story with you Americans and your automatics, nearly everyone in Europe drives a manual, it's no fun driving an automatic.
When I see a VW bus, I think of my mom and biological father shagging in the back during a Valentine's Day concert...and my conception...and I praise the makers of VW Buses, for without them, I wouldn't be here... Holly
