Exactly. We need social libertarianism. The government does need to protect the people, from each other and corporations. Corporations don't give a fuck about you, all that matters is the bottom line 98% of the time. Keeping the environment in the best possible condition is in the best interest of protecting the individual's rights now, and in the future. I'm all for individual freedoms, ie. i don't think the government has ANY business on anyone's private property, telling people what drugs to take or not to take, or imprisoning people for any offence that does not directly harm another individual (and NO business killing any of it's own citizens) but at the same time, protecting some people's right to life involves welfare, and those most trampling on others (the filthy fucking rich with no use for all their riches other than absolute greed) should be the ones called upon by the state to help foot most of that bill. If you don't reign in corporations, it just becomes another type of police state, ruled by big business and environmentally shat upon by those who are willing to shit on the environment to make enough money to pay people off to let them keep shitting on the environment.
Weed is not a reason to vote for someone.. Though I was impressed at what I heard him say about the whole wikileaks thing a while ago.
I just checked the Ron Paul home page. Under issues, I do not even see Environment. All there is is a wishy-washy statement about Global Warming.
Here is a link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politi...#Environmental-related_legislative_activities it is wikipedia but that will be the best you can find. If I remember correctly a few years ago on his website he stated the government does the most damage on the environment, and said the government needs to be responsible for their mess (they currently aren't). That is paraphrasing from a old memory. Here is another link I just found scroll down to environment http://www.ontheissues.org/ron_paul.htm .
Fuck I'd vote for him, someone who even barely reflects our views has to be better than the piece of shits in office atm.
I will vote for him he is the only candidate I have ever followed and supported and for the most part agree with.
