    * Protecting a woman's right to choose while decreasing the number of abortions performed in the U.S.

Kucinich is way to liberal to win a national election though

I saw him speak when he was running in the last election. My mom voted for him and I definitely will this time. I disagree that he's a strong pick to win, though. He really is too liberal for a system that favors moderate candidates.

If I remember correctly, he didn't do so well in the '04 primaries; chances are he's not going to be the Democratic candidate in the presidential election. If he is, I'll vote for him, it seems rather unrealistic, though.

His only real chance would be to win the democratic convention. In the last set of primaries, he never got more than one third of the vote and was always second or lower to Kerry, so his chances of becoming the democratic candidate to begin with are pretty slim. If he did manage to win at the convention, he would really only go up against the republican candidate. The problem is, the green party often acts as a spoiler for the democrats, so the democrats require more votes than the republicans. Now, Kucinich is pretty liberal, so perhaps more green party members would vote democrat seeing as it's actually realistic. It's possible for him to be the next president, but in all honesty it's very unlikely. I'll vote for him in the primaries though.

Yeah man, I'm certainly voting for him in the primaries- not sure how likely his chance is considering the fact that Hilary and Barack and them are running, their budgets and popularity are like 20x that of Kucinich. The one issue I'm a bit iffy on regarding him is abortion. Regardless, I absolutely hope he does in fact win.

The problem with the Democrats running either of them, is realistically, I don't believe either is electable. I don't want to sound harsh or pessimistic, but I think a guaranteed way to ensure a record Republican voter turn-out is for the Democrats run a black or a woman. I think it's sad, but I think it's true.

And don't get me wrong, I would happily embrace either as our candidate. I think both would make fine presidents. I just don't have that high of an opinion of the Christian Right in this country. I think Kuchinich might not threaten them as much.
