LOL. Beer tastes gross also...that is until you get used to it. BTW...veggies taste like ass to me, even after 34 years of eating them. Peace to all.

Wrong...if you say yoy are a vegitarian then you are one....end of story. Don't think your in some exclusive club just because you happen to be one of the vegitarians that don't eat fish....whatever.

Ugh, this is a few pages back, but.. I hate this "pescatarian" and "ovo-lacto vegetarian" bullshit. In my mind.. you're either a vegetarian or you're not. I don't understand these fucking ridiculous labels. To me, it seems like people who want to label themselves as vegetarians but aren't actually willing to give up what they "should."

But whatever. You know, do what's right for you.

Being vegan is such a positive thing in my life. It forces me to schedule myself well, so I can have the time to cook, but I've also become a better cook than I ever thought I could be. I love to cook -- I find it to be a super positive, relaxing experience.

My body feels better than it has in years, and I rarely get sick anymore. Perfect.

Just have to ask... what's the difference between vegetarian and vegan? I always been told vegetarians don't eat meat and vegans don't eat anything which is alive - that means they only eat like apples fallen to the ground and "already dead" veggies. What's the truth?

from the Vegetarian FAQ on this site:

    Distinctions in the veggie world
The most common tags to describe various vegetarian diets are:
lacto-ovo (consumes milk and eggs), Lacto- (milk, no eggs), Ovo- (eggs, no milk), vegan (no animal or insect byproducts, usually including honey).
Sub divisions include but are not limited to: fruitarian (only eats regenerative parts of a plant: seeds, fruit, some harvested leaves) raw vegan (food is never heated above 160 F)

People pursuing the veggie diet who still eat fish, poultry or any other flesh are still omnivores.
We support your journey, but we might not teach you the secret handshake. :p

vegan is the lifestyle, where what is in your shampoo and dish soap matters as much as the fridge.
what you described, in part, is fruitarian, where only the parts that don't kill the parent plant are harvested.
I'd include pruning certain plants such as herbs. Not sure of the thought of annual plants, however.
Since annuals die ..er...annually and don't regenerate in spring.

In my country fish/seafood has NEVER been classed as meat, otherwise they would sell it at the Butchers shop, not at the very separate Fishmonger's.

What do you believe someone calling themselves should give up?

Fish is never called meat in this country either, but that's just the way thing evolved over time in speech and marketing, the fact is it's meat, you eat steak, you're eating cow meat, you eat salmon, you're eating fish meat.

I'm a proud meat eater. We have evolved to eat meat anyway. Besides, Lamb is so fucking good.

By the way, whoever said that fish isn't an animal, and a carrot is just as much of a life is a fucktard. I've never seen any blood or organs on a carrot.

I was a vegetarian for two years and then went on a meat eating crazy for three months. I've been a vegetarian for two and a half years now, starting in the new year I was to go vegan.

I had been a vegetarian for 15+ years. Laurel's Kitchen was regularly photocopies and enlarged with staples that were regularly found in Tupperware in the fridge. I did my own sprouting, had two sourdough starters in the back of the fridge, never ran out of tofu, and made sure that salad and fruit were part of every day.
    What happened?
An Italian cook moved in. While he believed that vegetables shared a part of the dietary intake, he was a rabid believer in animal protein as the be-all and end-all. I was not about to make a convert out of him. Anyway, the reality of it was/is that he cooks much better than I do. When he leaves I'll probably go back to vegetarian living since--when he's gone--I never make anything carnivorous anyway.

How do you manage to read things, yet you can't even type properly and continually call people 'jerkofz'?
